Hi
i was wondering if it was possible to cheat on multiplayer, i dont mean with the god mode thing. I remember a while back when i saw somebody firing 200 photons from a galaxy. I aint sayin i wanna use the cheats, its just that ive seen some funny things happening.
I also remember having someone fire a single phaser blast and disable a sheild.
And what are all those files you download as your enterign a server.
Just wondering

Yeah, it's possible. I have no idea how they do it, but I have seen the same thing. A zillion torps ans such. It's quite annoying.

I'm not sure what the deal is with those, but I wouldn't DL them if I were you, they could be anything.

It means that it wasn't originally in the Multiplayer forum, and it was moved here.

Not really. I don't know much about cheating in mp. The file downloads makes me think he's joining modded mp games, though. There are some files that don't cause a mismatch. Instead, the game informs you that the host files are different, and gives the option to download them from the host. Unfortunately, it doesn't tell you which ones.

I would have an Idea how to cheat. Simple script thing. You can start in testmode, open the console and start a little program for there, before the game starts.

Or it's just lag.
A friend of mine was ounce playing BF1942 on his 56k modem, and for some reason he could keep firing his machine gun without running low.
Well he was trying to get a knife for close combat...

Erm I have seen that happen. They use trainers for that. I believe those have the unlimited torps and instant reload function. I might be wrong.

Lag in BC will NEVER make it seem as though a Sovereign fires 8 torps at once. If it happens, it's a trainer.
Although it is VERY rare that see trainers anymore. Last time I saw one in use was well over a year ago in fact.

Do we have such a trainer with sourcecode so we can work against this?

I wouldn't worry about this. In all the hundreds of games I've played online, I think I've seen one in use perhaps twice, and like I said, that was a LONG time ago, like maybe two or three months after BC was released.

I think mabye to train someone to be better at the game. That's the obvious answer, I might be wrong.

The point of trainers seem to be not using God mode or pressing Ctrl + Q.

Huh?
OK, heres what happened, I was flying along, and all the sudden this guy shot someone and seemed to take out a shield facing in one or two phaser shots. Then two people (Myself (Vorcha) and another ship (I think a heavy or hybrid)) ganged up on 1 hybrid, and it survived an amazing amount of time, almost killed me in the process . . . crazy? I don't know, cheating? I don't know . . .

Cheat detection software? Never heard of anything that could help you there, however, ever try asking the guy?
BTW, Brett08 wasn't trying to be rude, but seeing the same question over and over again isn't exactly encouraging, if we can't answer it, we can't answer it . . .

Ugh, I've hosted a few BC games, and once in a while a cheater comes along and begins firing torpedoes repeatedly without needing to pause for a rearm. Quite annoying, and quite pointless actually; what's the point in cheating in a game anyway? It's not like you win anything. Thankfully I haven't seen any in a long while, but still...

Does anyone remember the clan called the TBA. They were around a month or two after BC was released. Nasty guys they were. Their phaser strikes could knock out your sheild. And they seemed to have unlimited torpedoes. I remember one time when i wasnt in a clan a bunch of 6 of us entered their sever. Only one was in side, we attacked his ship, he took minimal damage but our fleet got destroyed. They would go round beleiving that they owned bc and would enter servers and disrupt games. They werent very well liked but suddenly they dissapeared.

Mostlikly, lag. As in a torpedo hits your shield. But due to lag, the torpedo get's "stuck" doing major damage to your shields, then it get's unstuck and hits your hull, then it get's stuck again and does major damage to your hull.

I not long ago had 56k, and I never had anything like that happen due to lag.

10k?!?! Maybe it wasn't the one torpedo he got in that did all the damage, but the other five volleys he fired while you were lagging
