well. i didnt know at the time (stupid impulse buys) but the cpu in question was not compatable with the motherboard it was the lowest end intel pentium 4 d and the motherboard was an elitegroup pf5 extream and that inturn is what exploded. funny thing was tho that the pc ran for hours before it did do. the shop should have known that the parts they was selling me ware not compatable tho tho. but i must say it was amazing to see the sparks coming of it when it went into meltdown

can you hold the shop responsible then?
when I got a new comp, my fan stopped working and let the entire mainborad and cards melt together...it was amzing...especially becaue the guy who sold me the fan had to pay for each and every component...

they gave me a refund so i didnt lose anything. but i do think they hsould have paid to replace my psu cost me 50 quid to buy another one
on a side note tho. im glad i have a surge protector cause i have my xbox 360 plugged into the same extension cord i would have been going ape at the shop if they got damaged form the power surge
