Here is the preliminary work on the Kondal. I moved away from the original curved-forward orientation to something flatter, in order to make it more "cardassian". I think the result works...from all angles except the side angle it looks cardassian.
This ship was designed to fill a role similar to the Defiant, and operates in a similar manner. It is larger than the fed ship, has lower armor, weaponry and menuverability, but is better with shielding and range. Almost all Cardassian ships are designed for deep space operations, and this ship is no exception.
I'm not sure about the size yet, or the specific armament, im still working on it. Right now I wanted to get the basic shape out, and make adjustments. Here is my work sofar.

I appreciate the input....any comments on what you guys think the size should be? Remember, a little larger then the Defiant, but definitely around that class.

Well, the Defiant is 120 meters in length (read this for a good discussion which comes to that concensus), so I guess a little bigger than that would be about right.
Looking at the model, I'd say nine decks looks good (the Defiant was five decks, after all, so this seems reasonable):

The design is great but the ship looks like it was bigger. I mean: the Defiant is much more compact and gives me the impression of being faster and more agile, here you have a lot of "wasted" space between nacelles and hull.
Just my thought, great work btw.

Tho I wasn' fond of your initial modelling skills, I'm happy to stand corrected now.
Mr. Raven Night, this model looks amazing! what's the polycount on it, btw?

Looks very good and quite frankly looking over canon designs I think you'll find that cardy ships have some pretty flat sections. Aside from that this design fits pretty well although the only put of for me is the front looks a bit to wide for my liking. Still it'll be good to see some of these ships in game at some point.

I like it, I agree it looks a little too flat, but I say it fits in well

You guys might be right about the flatness....I dont want to build up the top, but I can build the bottom. It needs more on the bottom anyway...trying to stay within 2500 polys.
Thanks for the compliments on my modeling improvements....I still have a long way to go
2303 polys at present.
The wasted space is actually on purpose...Cardassians are not known for efficiency in design, at least how I see the designs. The ship has lots of storage area for fuel and supplies, as all Cardassian ships are designed for deep space operations (or almost all I should say, again, my contention).

IMHO
I think it needs a bridge. Nothing big, just a little structure
on the "spine" towards the bow. Same spot as in the galor
class.
Looks good tho. What's the HP going to be like?

Well, this is the bridge.......I know, its small and non-wedge shaped like other Cardassian ships, but I figured that since this is a fast attack cruiser (like the Defiant) it should have a more compact flush bridge assembly.

Actually, the more I look at this design, the more I like it. That structure in the center of the spine also might make a nice bridge spot; I think that's where it is on the Hideki class.. Anyway, if this is going to be the cardy asnwer to the Defiant, I think it should have something special in the HP. Some new/stolen technology (cloak or burst-fire torpedoes, new torpedo type, etc.) *whatever* something to distinguish it from the other designs. I'm going to throw out 2 ideas here, which might make it easier to place weapons systems if folks want them -
1)
The blue is the the weapon arc; to make it work, those center
fins will need to be raised up a level/or angled upwards. Still
might have stuff firing through the model though so,
idea #2:
extend that part of the spine forward a bit (red part). Cuz i think it'll look funny if you mount the torpedoes/pulse weapons on the leading edge of the bow. Also, I think the side profile might look better with some vertical development near the stern... But what do I know ' Either way, it looks good.

Hehe, looks like a No-Frills Saber class. Get rid of all the silly hull volume and warp nacelles, and bam! There you go.
Only joking. This one's good, as always.

Well, all cardies have the bridge facing hyper-forward, so I felt I should do the same here.
