Has anyone tried BC on
Vista,,,
Media Center Edition,,,
I have always found it to be rather nerve wracking , to upgrade to a new OS and things (Iv'e used a-lot) will not run at all
and only sometimes will the compability work (unless it is more stable now)

I believe thats true. Im sure I read somewhere that theres an emulation of sorts in Vista apparently so anything older than DX10 will run on Vista

Wait, Vista has already been released? and is DX10 only for Vista, meaning 9.0c the last DX build for XP? And as far as I know BC works on XP Media Center Edition.

Vista: Buisness editons come out at November, Public gets their share in January.
I'm guessing DX 9 C would be the last version for the Win9X/XP line...

Running MCE here and BC runs fine. I mean, I do get the CTDs and BSODs every once in a while like everyone else. CTD's - maybe 40-60 percent of the time. But bearable.

I can't run BC ever since I got Vista the new version. It starts up and I hear the error beep sound and it says stbc.exe has gotten an error and then crashes. It worked fine with 2000(never used XP) and even when I run it in compatibility mode it doesn't work.

So it seems BC itself runs on Vista (with a little effort) but I'm concerned about the Model Property Editor, will it run in Vista? Are there any complications? Thanks in advance.

I hope BC runs better on Vista than my DOS and old windows games on XP.
Windows 98 is still my favorite operating system. It runs BC, EF and some really old games that I can't run on any other PC.
