No excuses for not knowing what this is.
This baby is on fire, and it's going to fly very nicely when it's done.
I'll admit that I'm following a very well written tutorial that covers the whole construction of the thing and includes some very nice refference images. Mostly, I'm following it just so I can get the detail right and not miss anything.

A little extra detail and the beginnings of an animation.

Movie and series. Not sure what you mean by three different ones. Either way, this is the higher detail Serenity version.
Most of the differences are pretty minor actually. The movie version has improved textures and is more grey in appearence compared to the yellow/brown version in the series. The other major difference is in the engines, the one in the series is a relatively plain cylinder, the movie one is greebled up to the max and is going to be pretty difficult to do.

These leg struts are a complete bitch. They seem to be completely different from one version to the next and the overall shape seems to have been made up on the spot, making it very, very difficult to replicate. I've got it good enough for my purposes but I'm sure I'd get kicked in the nuts if I were posting on SFM or some other site that is equally anal.

Oh yeah, that... I think I'll do that from scratch. I've said before but it's true, I'm about 10x better than I was when I did it the first time round.

Of course....but you need a completed game mesh from me, textures included, so you can use that as a reference. The deflector still remains a problem....I have the rest of the ship shaped pretty much the way I want it.

nice very nice,
but what is the poly count, that is if you plan on using it for BC , but if not the poly count does not make a whole lot of differrence

I'd expect the poly count to be at about 100k so far at least.
This is most definately not intended for BC. This thing is barely much larger than a shuttlecraft,if it was intended for BC it could probably be done in about 8k polys and look ok.
Armonds: 2 series versions, one with only one wide reactor leg and a differently shaped cargo hold.
The film version has landing claws as opposed to simple struts and the front ramp had been modified quite substantially.

115k actually. In theory, BC on a decent computer could run this if I optimised the crap out of it and ran it without textures (these are far more problematic than polygons in-game). The qemLOSS2 tool is pretty good at slicing the poly count in half without losing detail.

Nice. I'm assuming you did one engine and then mirrored it?

I'm going to get as far with the mesh as the legs, which are the first parts of the texturing tutorial, then I'll switch to some 2D for a change. I'm busy and not feeling the 3D work at the moment. It comes in waves.

Did a small amount. The wings are now finished, with a little more jiggling around with small pieces they should be able to be animated. The next step is the main hull so the next bit of progress should be far more visible.

I've started using the Array tool more than the clone tool now since it works out the angles automatically. Not as versitile as the full cloning options but since these are full circles, it does it a little quicker.

Started one the mess hall dome. Not much to look at but it's pretty damn awkward to do. At least it's beginning to take shape.
It could just be me, but the windows may look a little small. There is more to go around there and those are exactly what the schematics said, so bear with me for the time being on that.
