You know how the camera zooms in whenever you talk to a bridge character? I was wondering if it were possible to activate this effect at will without actually having to speak to any of the bridge officers.

That doesn't work. It works great for tactical view, but for bridge view it does nothing. It only zooms the viewscreen, I don't even have to go into the game to find that one out, as I use it often to adjust my view of the other ship.
What did you mean "tactical view Z"?
Also, does anyone know where I can find the sound effect of a starship flyby at warp? You know how on TNG whenever the Enterprise was in a rush and it flew by at warp, it made that almost explosive sound effect? I cannot find that ANYWHERE!

that vis when your on the outsides of your ship and then after you got a target press the z key
the = and - should have worked (unless you reassigned them) they are default settings, it also could be the bridge you are using, as to why they con't work

Wait... I'm having a hard time understanding you for some reason. I do NOT want a tactical view zoom. I don't want anything that has to do with an EXTERNAL view. As the topic title says, I was looking for the ability to 'zoom' in on the bridge ala when you talk to different bridge members the camera will zoom in on them. Try it in the game. Click on one of the officers and watch as the camera will zoom in about 2.0x. If you talk to Felix, you'll get a zoom effect toward the viewscreen. I was wondering if there was a way to get that zoom effect without having to talk to any bridge members.

Damn... hmmm... Well, is there a way to talk to a bridge member without getting the action menu? I might be able to use something like that instead. Basically, just do the regular talking to them, but without getting the menu to pop-up.

Can you give me a definitive answer? While its not something that will make or break my current project, it would definately be something very helpful.

LOL That's basically the same answer with an exclaimed NO on it. I mean, seriously, is it just impossible? There's no way to get rid of the menu or even shrink it? I mean, I've seen things added and taken away from the menu just with the various mods I've installed... surely there's a way to remove all the options? Heck, even leaving just one or two options visible would still work for me.

Sweet! I just tried it and it works! I don't get the menu which is part of what I wanted, and thanks for the help on it! Is there any way to get the zoom effect as well?
EDIT: And, btw, it worked better than even you thought. I was able to pan around just fine using the F keys! Very nice.
