A little something from a sketch I made a while back. It's a moderately sized cruiser (about the same size as a steamrunner) It features a dorsal mounted deflector and forward shuttlebay doors. (ATM it has the Trafalgar nacelles - these will be changed). Worth pressing ahead with?

Cool design there Raven - see what you mean too. Same hull configuration as mine but looks like its from the federation future (say 26th century?) Wouldn't mind a stab at that but I'll probably need a big poly budget for that detail. LOL I'll see if I can fit it in to my rather exstensive project list - but that'll mean it wont be for an age!
Anyway is this any better - I think it is but I'll still continue with the other as well - possibly make more changes to set them apart.

Wow, nice work que. I like the full saucer, but I hope
you saved the other version before you chaged it. Cause
the 1st version looked like it can kick some borg A**
and then some. Also, I'd like to see a picture of it as the
front of the "exposed" section but over all the saucer
section, just to see how it would look.
If you don't get what I mean, think of your first mesh,
then instead of the front partly exposed, have the whole
saucer be like that. Cause I think It'll look wicked.

I dont quite follow I'm afraid - but I havent deleted the old mesh - I'm still gonna use it as a variant.
Some new changes....

i like it.....it almost looks like an advanced design with lineage to the Norway....but that might just be me...
Is the ship supossed to be around the time of the Courageous?
EDIT : I really like the placement and look of the Deflector...

Lol - well its not a bad idea to be honest...in fact for the combat version I'm tempted to add 2 more launchers in the recessed part of the saucer - I wanted some more weaponry there anyway and this gives me the excuse.

love the design Que theres just one thing i think wud make it look a little nicer. Where the nacelle pylons turn down rite at the ends flare the connecting vertical bit of the nacelle pylon back and forwars a bit, it looks a bit too thin. By the way I like the idea of the variants in the class it makes logical sense. Also where do the impulse engines live on this beast?
Also are you gonna make it so it can seperate??? I think it wud look gud if it cud seperate along the join between the top of the saucer and the secondary hull so it wud look like to freakin great big prongs flying at ya. For the wr variant it wud make a gud dual vector assault mode with the torps on the seconday and saucer sections.
Correct me if i am wrong but the nacelles appear to curve down on the underside just aft of the buzzard collectors, perhaps installing two larger pulse cannons there would be an idea, like the Courageous sized ones but just the end of the emitter poking out...
Cant wait to see this beauty launched.

I made a possible compromise so it can carry a full arc - also I'll be able to add the reg and name which is something I always forget abt in my designs

I do to...but I like the first better. At first I thought the nacelles had to be longer.....but that was letting my design style creep in. I like ships that are very unorthodox, and this is it.

Impulse thrusters and dorsal phaser array added. The wings have been stretched back to give a better top-down profile.
