I like that space background. Homeworld, that's a game I haven't played in a while.

Are you serious in developing it?
If so I got soem suggestions (we need a side, back and bottom-overtop view though)
FIRST I would raise the base of the bridge higher than the turret a lot (like maybe double) also make that lip? NOT wider than the ship itself. In fact it should be well within the width of the ship.
Second, a little more detail on teh turret bases (mirroe it for a bottom part? Also change the barrels from triangles to squares same angle (liek a diamond) better illusion of a tube, or maybe even octogons!
Some sort fo secondary missile or torpedo mounts would be cool.
I assume that thing ont he lower mid of teh hull is liek a fighterbay?
Some tiny mounts for spotlights / sections mapped individually for light shadows ect... kept in mind for the future.
Name plate near the bow on both sides (mapped seperately so teh words read the right way on each side not reversed on one side (that really makes it detract fromt eh effect).
Hope you found some of thoes ideas useful! I am a BIG fanof the "space battleship", ever since the 70's
