I didn't think I had to post this, but apparantly it is needed.

Any product that violates BCU regulations if it was a post is considered a post with relation to the rules, and is therefore not allowed. An example would be a product that promotes any racist or hateful agenda, direct or implied.

In other words, dont name your products after people like Nazi war criminals. That is a quick way to get your product removed.

This should have been obvious. This is the only warning I will post. You will be banned if you violate this directive. The ban will be permanent. I have tolerated sneaky underhanded promotion of racist and/or totalitorian rhetoric long enough. From now on I will offer no quarter. This forum will be free of racist propaganda.

I'm just wanting to clear something up here......

using the name Hindenberg for a ship will be alright ? I only ask since it was associated with certin groups.

Although I wouldnt wanna name a ship after a great tragedy I'm just curious how far this is going....

Hindenburg would be fine. planes, ships, SOME buildings {Riechstag=NO}....any thing that does not promote a racist or supremist ideal, movement or group past or present.

sorry but i have to disagree in this point raven, the *reichstag* is the building oure (german) government is in again.

but i agree in all othere things youve mentioned, i would kill (with words) a guy who names a ship for example USS Göbbels / Hitler or something. thats a theme i dont understand any jokes

Ok, your right EXE. I like err on the side of caution however.

As you know I am half German, and I was born there. I am very proud of my heritage, but I also do not support ANYTHING that remotely support or glorifies the Nazi party.

I dont think this will apply to ship names from WW2 - whether they are US, British, German or Japanese - as naming ships with the likes of Tirpitz, Yamato, Hood etc, is an honour to those who died on those ships - not an honour to their respective governments of the era.

Yes, ship names and or types are fine. Let me give you some examples of what would be unacceptable/exceptable:

Berlin = Yes

Auschwitz = No

Rommel = Yes

Heydrich = No

Panzer = Yes

Sarin = No

Kaiser = Yes

Fuerer = No

Does anyone not understand where this is going? Nazi criminals, anything related to the Holocaust, anything that glorifies the National Socialist movement, the White Pride movement, any supremist leader or speaker, or anything connected to terrorism. Basically, if someone is sure to be offended, DONT POST IT.

Did you kow that in an old shiplist from SFB from Steven V Cole himself a Saladin-class destroyer (or maybe it was one of the war destroyer classes) is named Saddam?

Basically, if you take a close look at the names of the Franz Joseph Saladin-class destroyers, listed in the original 1974 Tech Manual, you have names of famous leaders from antiquity who may have won a battle or two but had also committed their fair share of atrocities. For example, the Akkadian leaders liked to cut off the noses and poke out the eyes of conquered peoples, and so forth. However, details like that have more or less been forgotten (dare I say forgiven?) however the name lives on through history. Makes you wonder if enough time passes the same will happen with most of the German Nazi names.
