Ok some of you chaps have seen this in the graphic arts section however here she is for all to see. This is the USS Patriot completely modelled and now properly skinned.
She is 700m long by 200m wide with 26 decks. Armament consists of 11 phaser banks, 4 forward firing phaser cannons mouted with 4 forward torpedo tubes in the nose slung weapons pod with a further 4 tubes hard fitted on top of the saucer below the main shuttle bay and bridge. The aft is covered by 4 rear firing torpedo tubes. Defensively she has standard shields and ablative hull armour. The ship also has a battle support shuttle located behind the front weapons pod. This will be done as a MVAM ship in the future. See what ya think!!

Very nice indeed!!, futuristic and sleek looking. looks like a natural progression from the Sovereign Class.
I hope this ship gets ported to BC, she's a beauty!!

Ok, this might sound stupid, but the only gripe I have about her is her name : ...it should be something exotic if ya ask me

Cheers for the positive comments.
Im in the process of porting it at the minute for BC. Im having a nightmare at the minute though as I have 3dsmax v7 not v3 so im having to do a milkshape version in order to NIF it. grrr.
As for the engineering section being too small, it was designed that way as it is really just a navigational deflector housing. there are some other none key areas in there but it only has to hold the nav deflector support the nacelle pylons and the rear torpedo tubes. nothing else so doesn't need to be that big. I think it looks pretty balanced how it is IMO. The nacelle pylons I think would look too cumbersome if they were bigger and would detract from the sleekness. The ship is 700m long so the pylons are something like 40m wide not exactly tiny. There is no real reason for them to be huge anyway as they only have to mearly support the weight of the nacelles under maneouvers. The warp field imparts no force on these during warp flight as its the fact that the ship is contained inside a balanced subspace bubble that propels the ship not a thrusting force from the nacelles themselves. I appreiciate your opinion though.
Im sure Picard would be proud to captain her as the 1701-F!! The ship is called the patriot as thats what she was called in our short stories back in the 90's. She is meant to be one of 6 Aegis Class starships built for specialist missions. The Patriot was a kind of Starfleet speacial forces ship but the other 5 had different rolls. The ships were:
USS Aegis - NCC-80379 - Earth Defense Force
USS Patriot - NCC-76890 - Sarfleet Special Forces and Earth Defense Force
USS Steadfast - NCC-87540 - Starfleet Frontline Forces and Frontier Exploration
USS Jingoist - NCC-90001 - Bajoran DMZ
USS Partisan - NCC-92454 - Starfleet Frontline Forces and rontier Exploration
USS Watchguard - NCC-95624 - Neutral Zone Patrol
The names were all stemmed from meaning to defend in some way. Exotic names are fine by me as long as it means defender.

Dude that is one hot ship, i like how the underside connects with the rest of the ship, it has great lines, and from the underside she looks a little like the Soulwolf.
I think she will look great killing cardies in BC i look forward to seeing her in game.

yeah it has the lines of a soulwolf and the proportions of an intrepid with that tiny wee secondary hull
my only gripes are:
-the mid/aft phasers in this pic. the ones right behind the impulse blocks. if you could move them up on top of the edge there their available arc would be really opened up both in BC and err reality...
-the bridge. if you could move it up a bit so it doesn't have so much of a 'horse-blinder' feel too it. not so it's sticking out though but maybe so the upper most bit lines up with the top of the main curve.

Wow! When is she 'planned for launch'? (in a matter of speaking)
I agree though. It should'nt be called Patriot. It called be known as a 'Patriot Class' ship but I would suggest a different registery.

Thanks guys.
That mentioned phaser strip is actually on a 50 degree vertical incline so covers above the saucer fine. Check out the side view!
Anyway chaps the model has now been sucessfully transported into BC and plays superbly. I'll download the model very soon.
Check out these new pics in the meantime and also the engineering schematic which gives a deck cut through of the ship so you can all see where everything is!! Engineering not being in the 'tiny' wee secondary hull!! lol.

Before you do that, can you please make a change to the py so that it requires you to add it by BCMP? Im asking because I use BCMP to place ships where I like, write custom TGLs and make the ships show up as class names instead of registery names.
(Example: Instead of it showing up as 'USS Patriot', I would use BCMP to make it show up like this, 'Patriot Class').

Prommy!!!! Don't insult me!!! lol
The whole ship is designed from the ground up. No kitbashes whatsoever.
Still glad you like it. I'm gonna make it available for BC soon. Had to rescale it as it turned out to be abot 650m not the 700m it should be, so delayed the release a little.

Sorry for the late reply. Not been on for ages. Right, yes starforce I would be interested in getting the ship included. The ship is actually already converted and in game as we speak, see attched photos. You can have the files whenever you like.

I get what you mean. There is actually ridges on them like on the galaxy etc you just cant see them that well on those pictures. I have kinda tried to make them scale which has the effect of making them disappear a little from long distance. But they are there. As for uniformity of glow. Well I had to use milkshape to texture it and import it into game so its a little difficult to do. It cant wrap texture so the top warp glow has to be seperate. oh well
