3ds max renders reflections pritty fast with mental ray.. dending on the quality and amount of cause.. but scanline renders can take a while.. for the proccessing of the reflections and refractions.

ohh ohh btw, i would really like to see this rendered in catmul-rom if it isnt already!

edit: just looked back.. it it seems your using area.. so ignore the "if it isnt already"
