Here is the Hammer of War, the light version of the Blade of Kahless. I am making this one first, with the intention of modifying it for the Conqueror. Look at this ship like a cross between the Defiant and a BOP. This ship is faster and had higher armor and weaponry power than it's distant cousin, but does not have the storage capacity of the Brel or the Kvort. It is a pure warship. As a result, it does not have the operational range or the flexibility of the BOP, but is more focused for it's particular mission design. This ship will carry only one forward torp launcher, but will have a full compliment of fast recharge disruptor banks. With the armor and weaponry of the Kvort and the menuverability of the Brel, this ship is formidable indeed.
Here are some pics. Mesh will follow after I finish it up.

can you move that line breaking vertices in the middle of the front of the wings back a bit? they look odd.
But i like the overall body of it..

Ok, made some improvements, still needs alot of work. Remember, this is just a template for one of the model makers, so it does not have to be perfect........it simply shows them in 3d form what I am looking for.
Reshaped it here and there........I think it is getting close. Still not satisfied with the look of the ventral hull.

Yes, the tails and the forward extensions of the wings were supposed to form into the hull to give it an overall flat brick shape, as if it was one flowing piece, which looked good in concept but did not work as well in application. When I pulled the extensions away from the hull, the overall shape flowed better, though it lost it's unique conformity which I feel is a loss. I am happy with the way it is going however.......it retains the staged look.....one long piece sitting over a roundish hull that is connected to two wings. This was the overall goal.

Ok, this has to be one of my favorites for my templates. I think it turned out quite nicely. The Hammer is not a particularly large ship.......about the same size of a Brel, 110 meters give or take. The idea is that this is the Klingon Defiant.......
But why would Klingons need a Defiant when they have the BOP you ask? Well, the fake reason is that the Brel is not a torpedo cruiser.....in other words it has the powerful cannons, but a standard torp launcher, and only one forward......no rear launcher. Originally I intended the same for this ship, but I have changed my mind after reading a part of the story Mike pointed out to me, so this ship has two forward tubes (in a double launcher in the nose) and a single rear, as well as two cannons comparable to the Brel.......but has the armor of the Kvort. The speed and cannons of the Brel, armor of the Kvort, with fast load torp launchers. A truly formidable escort battlecruiser, and a match for the Defiant.
Here are the final pics and the mesh........now on to making the Blade of Kahless......

Alright, here is an update....I have revisited this model, adding detail and fixing most of the hull formation problems. Now it looks much closer to what I originally intended.
Too many changes to list, but suffice to say that alot of detail has been added. Of course, most of the details are removable so you can look at the mesh clean.

I would prefer the term "battle corvette" for this.

Should I continue with the details or stop now? I'd like to keep going...maybe as a guide to Moonraker.

I could try bigger cannons, but I was going for more of a Defiant-like look. The grills are actually cooling fins on the sides of the nacelles.
