Alright, I don't post here often, and I hope I have the right forum for this, but I present to you a twist. What if there were certain power-ups in a bc multiplayer mod. I'm talking about the same kind you'd find in like Quake and the likes. So say I'm in a shuttle and suddenly zip through a "quad damage" powerup and start dealing a rommie the same type of damage a sovereign would do.

-the fact that you'd have to manually fly towards this non-targetable object would mean that you wouldn't be able to fire back at any other opponents while trying to attain the powerup.

-speed increases/decreases could be interesting to gameplay as well.

The powerups could show up on the screen in bright colors or something, as well as on the radar. Players would be encouraged to make a run for them. THIS COULD EVEN RESULT IN HILARIOUS COLLISIONS Grin

my simple question to the community is if this can be done with the limitations of scripting, and who would want to undertake the project?

-Could even have a powerup that kills sensor resolution, reducing you to manual targetting or unable to attack certain subsystems.

Just an idea.
Moderators, please inform me if I should repost this in another forum.

Of course if powerups can be done....what about CTF? (capture the flag...)

well i assumed that if there was interest it would have been done a long time ago. maybe people are more interested in canon fights and what not. figured i would just double check. breathe some new life into the mod community. gameplay variations like these have kept other games FPS games alive for years after their release.

any takers?

its not a bad idea starlancer (i think thats what it was called) had the same type of game play and well it was anoying lol they also had repair pickups double speed shoot while cloaked those things, I personaly like cannon fights and well the BC game play is different from other space shooters thats what keeps Bc going that and well im a Trekkie and im sure other people here are too. Smile
