Here is the progress on the Dom heavy battleship. Of course, there are 2 versions...the standard fleet version and the sep version for the Defender, the king of Dominion vessels.

Here are the pics sofar. Tell me what you think...I added a pic of the sep ship with the forward canards for giggles.

Glad you like it, I wanted to talk a bit about size...

Ok, this ship is only slightly bigger than the older battleship at 1550 meters. Now, the canard one, the sep ship to be exact, sits at the same size, but the ship it is attached to I will probably need to make about 4500 meters, which will make it huge. This is not necessarilly a problem, but being over twice the length of the Infinity does take away some of the size punch of the king of Federation ships.

It's what I get for making a battleship a sep ship lol.

At any rate, I like the idea that the Dominion would have a monster ship/mobile station. It is Dominion technology after all that allowed the Infinity to be built, as well as the rest of the fleet in such a short time, and why would the Dominion have such technology and not use it?

Gives a whole new meaning to the scale of the dominion!

How big is the infinity in relation to it? It would be a shame to have a ship bigger than the Infinity.

It looks pretty good, but I'm not too fond of the scale you've chosen. I just think it's silly to have such a large 'sep' ship. It would make more sense for the 'sep' ship to be a permanently-posted escort for the main ship than a normal dormant separating ship. That way, precious time wouldn't be wasted separating the ships during sudden combat.

I guess I'm thinking too much about how impractical it would be, and not enough about the 'coolness' factor. Wink

It looks good Raven, but those two prongs on the front just seem out of place in some way.

I know, I don't like them either, but it is distinctly "Dominion" unfortunately. The ship already moves away a little from the standard Dominion look, so I had to add them...the good news is that they are going to be heavy plasma cannons, giving this ship a heck of a punch on the fore end.

Ok, the mesh is done, error free, all it needs is textures and joining. The polys are sitting at 2839 for the standard refit, and at 2907 for the sep ship, so I met my goal of under 3000 polys for both with decent detail.

I am very happy with how this turned out.

Here are the finished shots, with an extra shot of the sep ship. Note, the only difference visually between the two is the canards on the front, extra weapons, sheilding and sensors, and the weapons pod on the middle spine of the ship. Otherwise they are identical.

Now, on to the only other ship that the Borg are wary of...the Defender.

Sweet! I really like how you integrated the warp nacelles into the hull, and those protruding grills you made near the bow. Looks great.

Looks like one mean mother, i like it, it has got me wondering even with Odos return to the link are they still going to be aggresive, coz this thing looks like a cold hard waship.

Well, the Dominion joins the fight against the Breen. They feel they are responsible for the current instability in the Alpha quadrant, being that they invented the ship-building tech that the Breen used to invade earth.

Odo is the psuedo-ambassador for the Dominion. He brings a full fleet to the Alpha quadrant to join with the Third fleet.
