You guys are amazing! Here .. its not ready really, but then its a community effort so lets all just Have at it!
I'm not formally announcing it open, I will... but you guys kick so much tail in eagerness that I'm pointing you to it now so that editing can begin (I don't even have our proposed outline in yet).
Anyway lets get things rolling! We have planted the seed of what is sure to grow into something fantastic!
http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~starmada/wiki/modding/index.php/Main_Page
So feel free to start editing. I will focus more on look and feel once I think all the sections are laid out and people have enough to start editing.
Lets rock!

Ok guys I added some more to the BC section… starting to put in the outline. It was a bit challenging since I don't know the material I don't know if a section is big enough to go to another new page or if it should be contained within the same page. How we layout the sections is just as challenging as filling them. The layout of course can be changed and we can move things around in order to better present the data to the target audience, which is modders both new and experiences. In fact a good page would be something akin to 'New to modding Bridge Commander?' which could contain a overview to what you can do and what it takes, geared for the person just starting. Also I'm thinking in the top level of the SDA we should have a 'terminology' for those who are really new and may not know what a 'hardpoint' is (I'm not really sure myself… though I think I know).
So get in there and start editing (remember you said you guys couldn't wait! Lol). Don't be put off by the syntax of editing, if anything the simplest level of editing is no harder then type text into an email (or forum posting). Keep the 'Editing a Page' link open in another window so you can reference it. Also you'll learn just by looking at what is already on the page when you go to edit. Don't be worried about messing things up to badly, we can roll back changes at anytime.
Which brings up the concern of anonymous editing and the ability for anyone to go in and wipe it out. Its true, however a good wiki community is self-monitoring, so anyone has the ability to roll-back changes made by someone out to cause trouble. This is done by taking a look at the 'Recent Changes' page and reviewing what people have done.
Finally I will continue the conversation of what I'm doing and all that here, but I also encourage everyone to start and partake in SDA discussions on our STGU Wiki board. *NOT* to take away from this wonderful board, you will always call this place home! But the central location focused around the SDA wiki allows interaction with modders from other games… which is one of the hopes of this effort, to grow the friendships and relationships of modders across all the games! So meet some new people, have discussions, become friends, then bring them here and show them your digs at BCU and they'll take you to their favorite forum/website..etc… you get the idea. All the while everyone works to make an awesome resource that will be invaluable for years to come!

You can create an account and if you do it provides some additional benefits such as setting up watchlists so you can easly check changes to any pages of particular intrest to you, as well as being able to specify an edit is a minor edit (such as a simple spelling fix on a page) and some other things like your own user page where you can list all the work in the wiki you've done. It doesn't even require an email to create the login account, however I suggest putting in one because if you don't and you forget your password then you'll lose that account since the only way to get the password is via email.

It probably keeps logging you out because the thing is on a load balanced server and you get pushed to another Dynamic server which doesn't have a cookie set.
In fact this problem should have been seen at this forum, for when you signed in and the link was to dynamic3 and the server then pushed you to another server.. Say dynamic6 it should have appeared to log you out. Unless there is a way to specify the cookie setting to bypass this problem. If you guys haven't seen this problem here can you tell me what the forum's cookie is set to? I'll then update the wikis with the same and it should solve the problem.

Well, now it seems I was logged in, I just had to clear the cache...
[EDIT] I've just finnished adding my part about my SubMenu mod, though I'm not sure if it should be there, or in th Guides...

Hey guys , just want to remind everyone of the existance of the wiki. I think we've all seen how fragile and passing websites and forums can be. Information is commonly lost when the site/forum goes offline or 'swallowed in spam' on messages boards over time. If you want to keep BC modding alive and bring in new people putting all your knowledge on the subject in the wiki is a great way to do it.
