OK, as you may have noticed, we have our stickies back, but I've kept this around and left a formerly-stuck topic in the top post.
Basically, this thread exists to draw attention to threads that might be useful to you. The stickied threads are so useful as to be indispensable. These are the next level down.
If you find a useful thread in this forum, feel free to post about it in here. Please try to copy the formatting used in the first post, because a thread URL by itself isn't very helpful
I will try to find the time to edit a selection of useful threads about a selection of topics into the top post here, but I can't guarantee that I'll put every link everyone posts in there. I will never remove a link from a post in here UNLESS it links to something irrelevant.
You can also link to tutorials/useful threads on other sites if you wish

hey, is there any sample scripts to learn about the BC API from?
I'm saying i know python, but knowing python and just jumping in and scripting things in BC are two different things. I've been browsing through the SDK and it is not near enough to learn fast enough to do advanced scripts such as have been done.
So does anyone have the source code to any of there scripts old or new, for advanced things such as ablative armour, or the more recent redistribute shields that they would be willing to share?

You don't learn to make adv. scripts over night! You start small and gain knowledge over bc file structure and bc's python and you know what can be done and how to do it!
App.py is what I recommend checking from bcsdk and missionlib 2 main files!

I thought most mods shipped with their source code... Or did that go out of fashion? I'm pretty sure that all of Defiant's scripts come in .py format, anyway... And I'd have thought MLeo would release in .py as well...

All the BCSTNG mods are shipped with source code too. I thought it was an unwritten law of BC modding
