Sorry if it's been asked before, but is it possible to make a Fighter cockpit for BC? Or does the game requires the BC skeleton models to be present on every bridge instead of making them like buttons?

Charecters don't *have* to be present on every bridge.

I suppose it could be made in such a way that you can just press F1, F2, F3 etc to access the charecter menus. then hide the charecters.

at least it would save us the pain in the *ss that are the animations but it would arise another problem: how do we do the viewscreen?

Ah, I was wondering about that. So it's not in quite yet, but in developement? Great news. Now if someone would get working on the code that sets the bridge to match the ship you're in...

so, basically all we need would be a pre-lit bridge-model, yes?

its fully developed.... but u dont have a shuttle bridge that can use it do u?

and you would need a shuttle bridge... would need just as much doing to it as a normal bridge. you still need animations even if theyre blank

well, not understanding much about bridge making myself (perhaps apart from the modelling), when you say 'blank animations' what do you exactly mean by that?

i think what he means by blank animations is that you need to still create the animations for each character even if you dont have them doing anything...

so the animation that makes them turn to look at you would not actually do anything but its still there...

I suppose if we lined it up correctly, we could use the animations for the intrepid bridge as they are spaced far enough apart to be out of view... all we would need to do is set it up so that the camera does not move when they are selected... ie zoom to the screen when you select the tactical officer...

Mark you oppinion?

EDIT: Mark if you want, send me the shuttle bridge model and i will make it my top priority so we can test everything Wink ... besides i need a small break from that BOP bridge...

Just wondering, would it be possible to just put the camera inside the cockpit on a ship model, instead of loading a bridge?

wouldnt make much difference since we already have a shuttle bridge model... and on top of that you wouldnt be able to animate the bridge model at all

You mean like the type 11?

EDIT: But like mark said, this CANNOT be animated. (without alot of effort Razz )
EDIT2: No viewscreen btw either Razz tho i guess that could be "bodged"

Maybe it's possible to fudge the viewscreen a little by making the cockpit window have some kind of LCARS-style Heads-Up Display overlay.

And just as a brief aside, I'm guessing by Mark and Sean's latest sig images, we're in store for some more interesting additions to the BC bridge scene in the coming months.

I could see this as the new bridge from the (Type 9 Shuttle Upgrade) "Viking-Class" Runabout bridge by Linak, from the Treknology.Org forums.

http://scn.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/11310331/m/10110657073/p/2

Or, an interesting bridge for the Xenon-Class assault runabout the Defiant-Class was based on.

Can take 2 I think... Wasn't Riker and Roe in a Peregine when she turned Maquee? And the rest of the Maquee Peregines were in a nebula hiding from sensors for a raid?

Sounds exciting though! Single person cockpits, Woot!!!
