The crew of the USS Galaxy are diverted from their first mission, charting the Ona system, to investigate a distress call near a dangerous and unstable star. What they find is something no one ever expected.

This is my first attempt at making anything like this. As it is, I already see places where there's room for improvement (the pacing near the middle of the movie is a little boring) and hopefully with time, it will get better. I'll try to get an mp4 version loaded up to BCfiles so that anyone that happens to like it can get a high quality version of their own. By far, the best part is the latter half of this movie.
Un-cut version posted in the spam forums.

Wow!
That was hands-down the best BC-based vid I've ever seen. Very, VERY well done, Dante! You didn't just use the ships and fly-by shots for space scenes, you actually used the bridge and crew, and did it well! This definitely qualifies as a machinima video. You even got great voice actors! WELL DONE!
Questions:
-How'd you get that last fly-by shot in the opening credits?
-How'd you get the crew to 'talk' (move their mouths) and move like that (Kiska turning around, for example) without ever clicking on them? You didn't actually program all that, did you? O.o

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The last shot in the opening credits actually took some modding and some patience. I had to make a ship with uber-powerful photons that shot them like a machine gun, and then just ripped through a defiant-class hoping that there would be literally nothing left when it exploded. It took like... a dozen tries. When that happened, I just did a reverse tactical view and waited for the camera to stop rotating to do the fly by.
The crew talking was actually done with some help from some modders. I'll ask'em if they're willing to share it, but due to certain complications, they wanted to remain anonymous for helping... me in particular. Partially due to the modding group their a part of and the opinion a couple in their group have of me. (It's really complicated.) They basically did not want a certain few to know they were helping me ... to avoid complications. I don't see why they'd say no to you in particular tho.
EDIT:
New technique for the first one. Its much easier to use a shuttle. I can vaporize them in one try now lol
EDIT x2:

What did you mean by 'Machinima' video? I looked it up and found some really... O_o ... interesting stuff lol

That was very good. I think you did extremely well with the cinematics.
