Same time as Monday. I just had a major drive failure in my RAID array, so files were lost, and I have to rebuild the array and get my system back up and running. It is going to take a few days, hence the delay.
Sorry for the wait guys, but I should be back up to speed in a few days.

That may be a possiblity, but right now my drive (combined) runs at 15000 RPM......
At any rate, I am 50 percent up right now. Should be back 100 percent by tommorrow, or at least close to it. I did not lose as much this time due to backups.

you know the raptors (in raid 0 ofcourse) out perform some of the high end scsi's even the 15k rpm ones hehe. however i suggest you wait till later this year when seagate releases 12 new drives. some with 16Mb cache heh.

Now THAT would help.......8mb cache right now, one of the reasons the RAID fails.......overflow and bit errors. A bigger cache would solve that problem. Wish there was some way to buffer the drives.

I use Dual Western Digital 200GB with 8mb cash 7200RPM drives in all three of my lan PCs and so far no problems. Anyhow what is the exact time of the meeting in Eastern Standard time and what chat room etc. Never done this before so.... any help would be cool. Dont want to get fired from my fun moderator job

The meeting will be from about 12 noon Eastern to end sometime between 6 PM and Midnight, depending on who comes and what is needed. That should give plenty of time for people that need to come to show up.

they do. They ahve 10,000 RPM drives, but their capacity is alot smaller than the 7,200rpm ones.

30 gig last time i checked, and i theyre designed for RAID.
and the reason why ppl want high hdd spin speeds is so they can get quicker access times, so lower load times etc
