Ladies and gents,
After suffering a severe hard drive crash, I find myself re-installing STBC...again. I remember from past atttempts at this that the order of installing things is important if you don't want the Black Screen Of Death after putting things like Scotchy's Galaxy in before (or after) some other mod, or vice versa.
Has anyone ever attempted to come up with a recommended order of installation for STBC? If not, can anyone even guess? This trial and error stuff is a royal pain. What's be best order after doing a base STBC install and adding the 1.2 official patch?
For starters, care to start a list of "must have" mods and ships? Here's what I have in mind thus far:
Unofficial 1.3 patch (is this recommended?)
NanoFX
ATP (latest version...where to find this? I can't find it anymore)
Submenu mod
Bridge mod
SNS Galaxy (best there ever was, Scotchy!)
CG's Sovereign (best there ever was, CG!)
Defiant pack (whichever is the best/latest since 9of9's)
Voyager (whichever is the best current one)
Delta Flyer (best?)
Akira (whichever is the best current one)
Nebula (how about that new high-res version?)
Nova (isn't there a recent high-res version somewhere?)
Excalibur (who's got the best one?)
Ambassador (best available?)
Constitution Refit (best available?)
Excelsior pack (lots to choose from. best?)
Galor and Keldon (the best models are...which?)
DS9 station (best?)
Runabout (best?)
Dominion bugship
K'Tinga (best available?)
Neg'vhar (best available?)
Vor'cha (best availabe?)
Romulan D'deridex (there's an excellent high-res out there somewhere)
Romulan Norexan
Borg Cube (is there one out there anywhere with a decent HP?)
Borg Tactical Cube
Borg Sphere
Borg Diamond/Queen's Yacht
Elminster's Weapons pack (is this needed? Are there multiple versions?)
(...insert your suggestion here...)
Whew! That's a start. I realize that people's definition of "best available" is highly subjective, but I'd love to hear suggestions. And if people can give suggestions on installation order, we can make this a sticky thread for anyone doing the dreaded re-install. And, if someone were willing to give me a few pointers, I might even try to figure out a way to put all of the above in a single mod than anyone can download and install with just a click. Wouldn't that be nice?

Perhaps I've just been out of it for a while, but none of these make any sense to me at all. Care to expand those acronyms so the rest of us can understand them? Thanks!

KM = Kobayashi Maru
KM 0.91 = Kobayashi Maru v.0.91
KM Pimped = Kobayashi Maru Pimped
UMM = Unified Main Menu
BPCore = Bridge Plugin Core
BCS: TB = Bridge Commander Scripters: The Beginning
Search for these using the search engine on BCFiles.com and you'll find the files.

The search engine is my friend:

KM is huge and installs a bunch of required (and optional) mods on it's own. I prefer the KDF mod but as I was told before the KM,UMM, BPCore, BPS, etc. all you really need to install first is the official patch,BCMI and BCMP (which installs the foundation).
