Ok, I am sorry for my absence, and it will be a little longer I am afraid. We are busy in the office prepping for the new service. We now have one meg both ways......the URL has been updated with the new IP, so it may take a few days to propegate. You can access the site using the IP 209.42.40.126. Let me know what you think of the new speed, and if there are any problems.

At any rate, the days of the slow server are over.

Give me a few more days and I will be back to answer all questions and emails. Thanks.

I've just been trying out some of hte downloads on the site, just for testing speed. It ranged between 5 and 8 KBytes/s. Is it supposed to be like that?

And it was only at 6.7 KB/s average. And yes, I have a MBit-ADSL-Connection.

Maybe your ISP is getting more trffic than they can handle. Try it again tomorrow, you might see better speeds.

I dont know why you would be slow, even running a game server for MOHAA Spearhead the server is still showing speeds of 600k on average, which is good. That is six times the original speed.

I have cut down the ping levels of the players and the number of players to 20, so that should help. We can also increase the speed if needed.

The site still does not seem to resolve by the domain name, only the IP.....I need to contact dsli tommorrow to find out what the problem is.

It is possible to upload new stuff MLeo, but you'll have to log into the FTP server via the following address: 209.42.40.126:21, where the :21 refers to port 21. Your login details should be the same.

Starforce, are you using 209.42.40.126 as the login address? The DNS server is still pointing the wrong way, so you have to use the IP address of the server until the DNS starts pointing to the server. If you are using the IP address, and you still cannot log onto the server, then it may be that the server is offline. If that's the case, try to log on later.

The dns takes some time to update worldwide, but shortly everyone should have access to Nightsoft.net. Nightsoftware.com is now simply a redirect to Nightsoft.net, and eventually will be removed.
