A minor update. Got the nacell pylons done. 3d max has been acting weird on me so I couldn't get much progress done today. I'm still not quite satisfied by how it looks. I think more work could be done to it.

looks good! I like the way you've got the nacelle pylons sweeping off the top of the secondary hull. My only suggestion would be to add a few more polys to them.

I second DJ Curtis' comment about additional polys. Other than that, I am on the edge of my seat looking at this beauty.
Will there be any details meshed into the pylons sometime? I know it's incredibly early to ask questions like that, but I was just curious. Hope you don't mind.

To DJ: That's why I'm not satisfied with the nacell pylons yet. I saw how low poly they looked and I sort of winced at releasing the latest pics. Also, I'm now having some issues with max. When ever I try to symentry both halfs of the 2ndary hull, it dissapears completely. I think this might be due to operator error than program error. While I was making the pylons (which are basically a mesh extrusion from the 2ndary hull), I noticed that ther was another copy of the hull underneath the one that I was working on. So I deleted it, knowing that it could and probably would cause some visual errors. Now when ever I have to symetry both halfs of the hull, the whole thing just deletes itself. I was wondering if you could give some advice.
To F9thCenturus: Well, yeah man. Of course there will be more detail. Haven't you seen any of my other meshes that I've made?

Please forgive my ignorance. Me still newbies in BC community. I'm primarily an SFC kitbasher. Some of my work has been ported to BC though.

Update for DJ... Added more polys to the nacell pylon and fixed some smoothing issues with it.

Warp nacells done... the only thing this beast needs now is a bridge, some impulse engines, and some weps.

What exactly is this thing's armament supposed to be comparable to? Cube, Tac Cube, etc.?

Well, while u guys might like the results so far, I've been looking at my reference and found out that I've made some mistakes with the dimensions. I mad the bridge section, including the terace, way too small. It should be at least 20% bigger. I've been trying to mess around with the model to fix this, but I'm not having much luck. In order for me to fix the problem, I have to either a.) re-position each and every single polygon on the saucer that would be affected by the adjustment (which could be all of them), or b.) make a whole new saucer, which will be frustrating considering how long it took me to make this one, or c.) we can always pretend that the ship was suppose to look like that (I vote for c ). Anyways, to whoever requested this ship to be made, I'm sorry for not getting this thing spot on accurate. Perhaps whenever I have the crazy idea of doing a 2nd one (like I did with my Apollo and Merced) I might do a better job (but then I'd have to wait for lightning to strike my PC and whipe my hard drive clean).

Well, I spoke to the original designer and he likes the results as well. He will be giving me some more photos of areas of the ship that I'm not to sure about. Once I get those photos, I will continue with the modeling.

Not really much of an update here. Did some minor re-adjustments to the ventral side of the saucer, re-sized the bridge (apparently, it's supposed to have an Intrepid class bridge), added that weird structure on the back (still waiting on additional photos from the original designer), and added that torpedo tube on the center of the bottom side of the saucer. Need to add phasers and some other minor detail stuff that will make this thing look decently good. As far as armaments go, I think it's just slightly weeker than a Sovereign class starship in terms of weapons and shields, but probably more powerfull in the impulse engine area.

Alright, I got the main phasers and torpedo launchers in (did some extra detail on the forward launcher) in, and I also added some extra detail to the ship it self. Hope ya'll like it.
