My first real model not done with a tutorial looks like soemthing from a 1970 anime ship. As I like to call it "A water gun with wings"
EDIT: Yes I know its not smooth, the propellers suck and there are model errors

I see where you've got the idea from. Very good design and yes, very very anime.

Ok, now "Download Blender, Jack***" is on my list, and you're doing very well on your second day compaired to my 5th day of Milkshape (which was sorta horrible...)...

Well, a powerful program does help. My 2nd day on Lightwave was better than most of my first week on Milkshape back in the day.

Very very nice for the second day on blender, and yes itīs a nice lil program, not as powerfull as max, but very good for modelling.
I just miss the smoothing in the model

I'm thinking you should go all out and try to get some detail on it.

To be honest the next step will be figuring out how to smooth it over but some greebles around the engines, windows, hatches and maybe some other special features would go down a treat.

I'm planning on makign some portholes, as I don't think regular windows will look good on this.

Much better, but this is where you learn about the messing bitch that is known as "smoothing threshold".

Treleth, maybe you could so some adjust on the helix, they look jagged compared to the rest of the ship.

I think 99% of any problems are just due to the smoothing thresholds. Doesn't look like there are any mesh errors on it.

I'd bung it in Mod Ideas in the modding forum, someone somewhere has to be crazy enough to do it.

truer words were never spoken. you actually thought of setting up a n00b-compendium?
it's like a rulebook on how NOT to behave.
