hello all. ive recently decided that i wanted to change a torpedo sound closer to the sounds in nemesis. I took a pulse cannon sound from Legacy, which is in the same audio wave format as the other sounds and edited the torpedo to play that sound and then in game it shoots the torp, but no new sound. I then set it back to its default torp sound of "CGPhotorp" and still no sound. I then edited and tested another torpedo, which didnt play any sound either. what am i missing/doing wrong?

Where did you edit it?
(And then it may look like , the same format, but BCs engine may not recognize it.)

i edited the torpedo with notepad
def GetLaunchSound():
return("cgphotorp1")
the sound itself i didnt create, i got it in a pack:
http://legacy.filefront.com/file/Defiant_Pulse_Phaser_Sound_Replacement;74088, Dauntless_Venerator2 captured it.
the strange thing is, this isnt the first time this has happened. BC had crashed a while back so i figured i just wanted the CG Pack instead of the CG Sov. the cg pack ships had no torpedo sounds, despite that fact that it came with the sound and correct scripting. I then downloaded the cg sov and installed it, which had identical files and scripts and the sound played fine. i was stumped. now the original torpedo file wont play anything at all, so even if i reset it to default, i get no sound.
