I decided to release my biggest (Bridge Commander) Mod Project, the FBCMP Mission4 Plugin, that should allow AI Ships for every BC Installation on September the 28th, don't matter if I get the Mod finisched or not,
But after that date I wan't have that much time any more.

It will be released...sometimes.
But right now I can't work on it(No Working Windows XP Installation) - nor have I the time.

Well this Mod is not Open source. It is only freeware.
So far you have to agree to the following points:

-Edit the source
-Decompyle the .pyc files.
-Spam me with E-Mails "it is not working" (html mails will me simply ignored)

I just can't make this one Open Source, cause I don't want to have multiple Version flying around - you know why.

Like it says, it gives you AI ships (or bots) like in QuickBattle for Multi Player. And after that also human players.

I recently was directed to this file after I was searching for this exact same thing. So I thought, since it hasnt been done I would describe what exactly this is...because I was unsure also until I tested it out.
Desciption
------------
This is basically a MP mission, BUT, WITH A BIG DIFFERENCE... When you go to set up a new MP game, and select "Turkey Shoot" from the mission menu, you are then able to add as many AI ships as you like, either to Enemy or Ally's... And then people who join the game, can chose Team 1 or Team 2. Im assuming that Team 2 places you on the enemies side...
My Opinion

This Mod is AMAZING...in my opinion it should be a breakthrough in MP gaming. Myself and Nebula recently played with this mission with a few new ships that we added ingame...and it was SO MUCH FUN We played multiple battles against a host of different ships...from Kessok Cruisers to a fleet of Warbirds... Its great to be able to fly and work together.
Soon im hoping to add in a Borg Cube, so we can reinact First Contact...
Any Problems?

All i can say is that I experienced almost no problems....(my only problem was that Nebula had trouble remaining in-game when there were Fed ships as enemies. However Im not sure if this was due to the planet system that we were using, or due to some other reason.
Improvements
-----------------
Defiant, Please continue to modify this Mod. Its what MP needs and Im very impressed. IF you do decide to work on it, here are a few things that I would recommend.
1/ Add in the ability perhaps (IF POSSIBLE) to place ships at different locations (Like QBR)...
2/ Although this is a bold step, but it would be cool if during a game, new ships could just be added without having to start over... Often we found that we were TOO good for the enemy, so we kept having to restart.
I cant think of any other ideas at the moment. But thanks loads Defiant. Ive been searching for something similar for a while.

Just a computer problem - I need 2 computers to test this, and I currently have only one running windows on it - as you see, this zip file you have is now one year old.

right, known problem. The only thing you can currently do as server is blow your ship up. When the 'Server Player' is dead he can add more ships, but the colours (red/blue for enemy/friend) will not match :(

Thanks Defiant...I really do love this. If you want anyone to test...just let me know. When me and Nebula were fighting 4 (Modified) Warbirds yesterday...his exact words (I think) were "This is crazy!"...Ya know, he was right!

-Fix problems
-Add AI Ships while in game
-Add Bridge support
-Add support for the Engineering Extension.

Well not soo easy - I had a big fight with the Bridge support today:
After loading the Bridge the Set-course Menu was disabled - I still don't know why - So I had to create a work-around - still not 100% perfect.
-Fix problems - Still some problems left
-Add AI Ships while in game - Will be handled Later (by Engineering Extension)
-Add Bridge support - Only GUI missing.
-Add support for the Engineering Extension. - Done
-Support for Multiple Systems - Done
