Metal Gear Solid Coming to XBLA [R]

Ripten reports~

"Yes, I’m British.  I spell “rumour” with two u’s. What U going to do about it? Well hopefully you’ll have no time to do anything, because either you’ll be embedded in Snake’s final mission on the Playstation 3, or engrossed in one of Snake’s first on the Xbox 360.

Yes, with knowledge comes…well, snappy Ripten headings, and this time it could read; “Metal Gear Solid Coming to the Xbox 360.”  At least, not in the form you might expect.  As we all know MGS4 couldn’t possibly fit on a measley DVD, but Metal Gear Solid 1 should fit into 150mb.

Indeedy do, MGS might be following its tactical steps onto the PS3 and PSP, via an Xbox Live Arcade infiltration.  This is not too surprising, since the series has made its way onto non-Playstation consoles a number of times, and Microsoft even published MGS for the PC release.

I expect you’re asking how we know, or who our source is. Lets just say a reliable individual tapped into our codec frequency after spying the game on a certain pre-release network.  We shall say no more - nudge nudge, wink wink - except this; there are problems in bringing Kojima’s masterpiece to this new playing field.

Naturally, rumours can turn out to be false, so we’ll bring you more information as it becomes available."

First 18 Minutes Of The New Metal Gear Solid Digital Comic

Friday, May 30th, 2008

From Kotaku~

"Own up. You don’t like Metal Gear for the gameplay. All that sneaking, and crawling, it drives you nuts. No, you love it for the talking. The hours and hours and hours of talking. Which is why you’ll probably enjoy this, the first 18 minutes or so of Metal Gear Solid 2: Bande Dessinee, the upcoming "digital graphic novel" that tells the story of Metal Gear Solid 2, sans all that unnecessary interactivity. It’s out in June in Japan, and as you can see, already has one up on the previous PSP version by featuring voice acting."

Kotaku reports~

"We’d think Metal Gear Solid fans wouldn’t be left wanting in the reading department, if anything, but for anyone thirsty for more Hideo Kojima inspired text, be aware that the novelization of the PlayStation original hits your favorite book retailer today. Better late than never, eh? The Raymond Benson penned tome chronicles Solid Snake’s mission on Shadow Moses Island across 336 pages of trusty old ink on paper. Totally graphics free! Kotaku reader Umbrae was nice enough to remind us of its brick and mortar appearance—thanks for the picture!—but for those interested in ordering online, Amazon’s got it.
