February 19, 2007 - Starting today the price of Fast Break Basketball has been reduced to $15 and is available through elicense. Also, for those that don't know, I am going to be working with Greydog Software on the new version of Fast Break. No word yet on when the release date will be but I'll have more info as the release gets closer at the Greydog Website:

December 24, 2003 - I have just uploaded version 2.4.0. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Added the option to release all players and run a creation draft in an active league. It is labeled "Reset League" under the Tools menu.
*Added next and previous buttons to the player screen.
*Replaced the create players and edit teams options under the tools menu with an edit current league screen that works like the default league editor.
*Fixed a bug that caused players added with the create player option to not be saved.
*Added the option to set the default salary cap in the FBB.ini file.
*Added the option to set the default starting season in the FBB.ini file.
*Fixed a bug that caused the No Randomization setting to still change the potentials some.
*Added the option to age all players by one year in the default league editor.
*Players will no longer be considered as signed to an exception if they resign with their team after the exception year.
*It is now possible to cut a player from your team during the regular season even if it would take you below 12 players.
*The amound of time that elapses on free throws should be more realistic now.
*Added support for draft files exported by Fast Break College Basketball.

June 6, 2003 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.8. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Fixed a bug that allowed players in the draft pool to end up on the All-Rookie team.
*Changed the structure of the playoffs so that first round series are 7 games.
*Added the option to make the creation draft use the default player salaries. To enable this, open the FBB.ini file in the game directory and change the SalaryStyle=0 line to SalaryStyle=1. The change will take effect the next time you start a new game.
*Fixed a bug that caused error 76 on the sim games screen.
*Fixed a bug that caused error 9 when trying to view the injuries screen.
*Reduced the margin of error in the determination of scouted potential.
*Added links to the day pages for each game of the playoffs on the main playoff page.
*Added the player of the game to the html box scores.
*Adjusted the All-Star selection process so it wouldn't penalize players whose teams had played fewer games.
*Fixed a bug that caused bird years to be reset to 0 if you looked at the edit player screen for player that was a free agent.
*Fixed a bug that caused scouted potential to not be imported properly in an attributes style draft file.
*Fixed a bug that caused error 7 on the fa period screen.
*Fixed a bug that caused Run-time error '3315' while outputting and mdb file for the league.
*Fixed a bug that caused the shotclock to be reset after a blocked shot.
*Fixed a bug that caused the "normal" trap setting to not work properly.
*The scouted potential now updates properly when you are editing rookies in the draft pool.

December 7, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.7. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Added the option to import all team files at once.
*Fixed a bug that caused the html roster page to not show the draft picks for the current year on the day of the draft.
*Injured players will now be shown in red in the default league editor.
*Fixed a bug that caused the box score links on the html team schedule pages to be invalid.
*Fixed an error 5 that occured while creating html files during the playoffs.
*Fixed a bug that caused invalid stats when a team played an exhibition game against itself.
*Fixed a bug that caused some players to not be displayed in the box score of an exhibition game.
*Fixed a bug that caused the box score links on the league schedule page to be off by 1.
*Fixed a bug that caused cut salary to be ignored after loading a saved game.
*Fixed a bug that caused the previous season's playoff results to be shown on the playoffs.htm page.

October 16, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.6. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Fixed a bug that caused error 3420 when exiting the game after creating a league with fictional players.
*It is now possible for teams to cut/sign players before the playoffs up until they've actually played a game in the playoffs. Teams not in the playoffs can cut and sign players until the end of the season.
*Changed the save format to make it faster and less vulnerable to certain errors.
*CSV output filenames will now include the name of the league the file came from.
*Combined the exports/imports for team settings, fa bids, and draft lists into one file that is imported/exported on the team roster screen.
*Fixed a bug that caused the career stats on the player html pages to be incorrect in the offseason.
*Added 3P% and FT% to the team season records.
*Individual files for a league(html, pbp, boxes) are now stored in their own folder so running multiple leagues at once will not result in the files for one league getting overwritten.
*Fixed a bug that caused all players to receive 0 potential when using a league import file.
*Fixed a bug that caused players signed to an exception to be untradable if they resign with you at the end of the season.


Note: To use saved games from previous versions, you will need to download the save converter from the downloads page to convert them to the new format.

September 8, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.5. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Adjusted the FA bidding process: Good players will require more money to sign.
*Teams now consider cap room when trading.
*Fixed a bug that made it possible to offer a player a 7-year contract when they did not have Bird Rights.
*Fixed a bug that didn't save changes to the default league if you deleted a player without making other changes.
*Fixed a bug that made it possible to trade a player twice during the FA period despite violating the 60-day trade rule.

August 9, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.4. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Players will no longer request a decrease in salary when they choose to resign with their team.
*Increased the average demands of players who choose to resign with their teams.
*Added the option to do a csv export in the format of a league import file.
*The import/export roster feature will no longer change IR status after the playoffs have started.
*The edit rookie screen now displays the letter grades for the ratings you select.
*Added extra code to ensure that season records vs opponents are cleared when running End Season.
*Fixed a crash that occured if you entered something larger than $999,999,999 for the salary cap.
*Changed the boxes link on team schedule html pages to look for the files in the /boxes/ folder instead of /Boxes/.
*Added a link to the daily league schedule on the default html index pages.
*Fixed a bug that caused the initial displayed defense rating for rookies to be calculated incorrectly.
*Fixed a bug when using an imported league and a creation draft that placed players for the next season's draft into the FA pool.
*Fixed an issue in trade AI that caused bad players to be overvalued due to an bug in the age difference checker.
*Fixed a bug that caused the L10 listing on the html standings page to be incorrect.

July 23, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.3. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Decreased the importance of assists in award calculations.
*Fixed a bug that caused Error '9' when using players that have all of their attributes set to 5.
*Added CSV Output options.
*Team stats are now erased when you run Begin Season rather than when you run End Season.
*The playoff.html file is now only created during the playoffs.
*Adjusted the calculations that determine the Playoff MVP.
*Fixed a bug that caused the displayed triple doubles and double doubles to be wrong in the player html page.
*Fixed a bug that allowed a team to trade all of their #1 picks if they received a second rounder in return.
*Fixed a bug that caused all players to receive 0 experience when importing a new league.
*fixed a bug that caused injured players to be valued improperly in trades.

July 8, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.2. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Added the option to filter by experience on the default league editor screen.
*fixed a bug that caused the bid button to be permanently disabled on the FA screen if the first human team in the list had 15 players.
*The maximum player salary based on experience now adjusts when you change the salary cap.
*Added the ability to choose which the year when you start a new game.
*Fixed a bug in the import league process that caused players of age 34 and -1 potential to not receive a new random potential.
*Added the option to set the default Bird years for a player in the default league editor.

June 14, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.1. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Fixed a crash that occured when viewing box scores if you had a league import file in the \import\ folder and started a new game.

June 12, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.3.0. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Added the option to set the amount of randomization in the starting potentials of the players when you start a new league.
*Added an html page for potential free agents. It is potentialfas.htm.
*Added the option to edit the scouted potential to the edit rookie screen.
*Added code to decrease the odds of an upset in the playoffs.
*Added support for the college import format:

PLAYER NAME, POS, AGE, G, MIN, FGM, FGA, FTM, FTA, 3FGM, 3FGA, OREB, REB, AST, STL, TO, BLK, PF, HT, SchedStr, Pot, ScoutedPot, College

This will allow you to set the scouted potential of the rookies when importing from a text file.

June 5, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.2.9. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Added a button on the draft preview screen to make the known potential for all rookies equal the true potential.
*Decreased the defense abilities rookies created by the attribute generator.
*Fixed a bug that allowed you to use a "'" when editing the team names. This caused multiple errors.
*Lowered the influence of team performance in the determination of the MVP award.
*The html link in a player.htm file now expects the playerstats file to be lowercase.
*Replaced "Week" with "Month" over the monthly awards on the weekly/monthly awards html page.
*Added code to ensure that the league will never have too few players due to excess retirements.

June 2, 2002 - I fixed a couple more bugs and uploaded version 2.2.8. Here are the fixes:

*Players with the team specified as "Draft" will now properly appear in the first draft when you make a creation draft import league.
*Fixed error 6 which could occur when submitting a trade.
*Fixed a bug that caused improper draft pick values when starting a no draft fictional league.
*Fixed a bug that caused the human team selection to not be saved when starting a fictional league.

June 1, 2002 - It looks like a couple bugs slipped through so I have just uploaded version 2.2.7. Here are the fixes:

*fixed error 91 when editing the default league.
*fixed error 11 when generating a player based on stats.

June 1, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.2.6. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Fixed a bug that would save the player injury as a number when you added the injury using the edit rookie option.
*Added the option to start a game with players imported from a file.
*Added the option to start a game with a fictional league and no creation draft.
*Fixed an issue that could lead to players disappearing when running begin season because their ID was used to create a rookie.
*Edit Default League is now always available.
*Edit Default League is now found under the Tools menu.
*Edit Default League includes the option to change the divisions of teams. However, they will still play a schedule based on their original division at this time.
*The Edit Player screens now include the option to generate the attributes from stats.
*Updated the default league editor.
*It is now possible to import the rookie class anytime before you run "End Season".
*Fixed a bug that made the player ID appear when clicking on a highlighted player in the stats grid on the roster screen.
*Adjusted the SF depth chart selection code. Fewer center type players will be used now.
*Added code that will make it more difficult to trade older players for younger players.
*Fixed a bug that made it possible to access the trade proposal screen after the trading deadline.
*Officially added the option to replace the background screen by placing a new background pic called bg.bmp in the directory where the game is installed.
*Fixed a crash that could occur if there is not enough rookies for the rookie game.

April 18, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.2.1. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Adjusted the player evaluation code.
*Added a screen that displays potential free agents for the following season.
*The first pick in the creation draft is now listed in the past #1 picks list.
*All-Star and Rookie Game html boxes are now created as rookiegame.html and allstar.html
*Added All-Star MVP and Rookie Game MVP to the All-Star Weekend winners screen.
*fixed a bug that could cause the FA contract generator to lower the value of the desired contract on Non-US computers.
*fixed a bug that would cause run-time error 3163 when saving after importing rookies from CAD.


March 29, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.2.0. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Teams now do a better job of scanning the FA list during the season for usefull players.
*Fixed an issue that could cause rookies from the previous season to be overwritten when importing a rookie file.


March 25, 2002 - I have just uploaded version 2.1.9. Here is a general list of things that have been added since the last update:

*Adjusted the CAD import process to handle the new range of possible schedule strength values.
*Added the scouted potential to the active player editor.
*Fixed a bug that could cause the rookies to not be properly cleared before importing new rookies.
*Fixed a bug that allowed the user to insert players on IR into the game when coaching.
*Fixed a bug that could cause runtime error 3022 when exiting the draft.
