Flamethrower

In response to the German's use of the flame-thrower the French developed their own portable one-man "Schilt" flamethrower, which was far superior to the German model. This Schilt was It was used in trench attacks during 1917-18. In Empires, the Flamethrower will be used to kill enemy units at close range and to destroy defensive emplacements such as pillboxes. Montgolfier Balloon

The Motorcycle came as the response and was used in place of their slower counterparts such as bicycles, which were used primarily in the First World War. Rifle Grenadier

The rifle grenade gives the French a vital anti-armor capability early in the history of tanks, when the need for some way to counter the steel behemoths is particularly dire. Somewhere between light artillery and your standard infantryman, the Rifle Grenadier offers the ability to support infantry assaults on the fly, without risking important support weapons and with enough mobility to accompany the foot soldiers as they make their assault.
