Q: Will there be gates in the release of the beta? or are we stuck long jumping it everywhere? (Agent$mith)

A: Yes, gates will be added to the beta MV before release.

Q: Any ideas as to alternate Medium Beams yet? (Darksworde)

A: Faustus: "I think we are planning on a "Heavy Disruptor"... thus toning down the existing k'luth disruptor"

Q: Any chance that CL1000 will become a Medium Beam? (Darksworde)

A: There are no plans for a Medium Slot type as of yet.

Q: Can we still expect tanks? (Deathscythe)

A: Possible, but it's not top priority.

Q: Are we going to have Fleet Wars once this patch comes out? (Azure.co.uk)

A: Faustus: "YES YES"

Q: Would it not be simpler to have a Disruptor and a Heavy Disruptor slot? Just like the Beam and Heavy Beam... this medium thing is getting confusing for new players. (Axianda)

A: Exactly what was being planned.

Q: How powerfull will the Heavy Disruptor be? (Zether)

A: Slightly more powerfull than the current one, and the current ones will lose some damage.

Q: Will the mines be fixed or are they supposed to be hidden from the one that laid them as well? (Captain Caveman)

A: They will be fixed.

Q: Are there any plans for a new type of station? I.e. Assault Station. (SabelTooth)

A: A new device, the wormhole device, will only be found on Stations. [added later: the Jump Cruiser might get one too]

Q: Wormhole Device?

A: Faustus: "This device will be able to create a wormhole between 2 locations, which acts just like a jumpgate. The wormwhole will last for about 2-5 minutes, and the device will take around the same amount of time to charge."

Q: What is the maximum range of the wormhole device? (Darksworde)

A: The Station Version will have about 1-2 million gu, the Jump Cruiser version will be very short ranged, like 100,000 gu or so. These values are not certain and still need balance testing.

Q: What stops a station from connecting a wormhole to a star? (Azure.co.uk)

A: If the Station targets a star and starts the wormhole, ships will appear outside the radius of the star. Same for planets. The only way would be to manually set a target inside the radius of the stellar body.

Q: Will the Wormhole damage the Station using it? (Lady Aeribeth)

A: No.

Q: Will there be a possibility to attach clan logos to your ship, or is that for the future? (Aubinator)

A: This is such a low priority compared to other issues that it will be for the future, perhaps 2 versions away.

Q: Will there be many new weapons? I.e. Heavy Disruptor, new Pulse Beam, etc. (Aubinator)

A: At the moment there are only 2 devices definately planned, the Wormhole Device and the Heavy Disruptor.

Q: Will we be able to get ships the same way as now when the release comes out or will we have to use ranks to get them? (Pink Panther)

A: No, you will need to have the right rank, and, for the bigger ships, a shipyard and the resources to build the ship.

Q: With the number of projectiles limited to your ammo amount, combined with planet rotation and building invisibility, won't bombing become totally ineffective? (Rocketeer)

A: No, because the number of beam weapons on the Defense bases have been reduced.

Q: In addition to defbases losing some beams, will planetary shields be toned down a bit too? Multiple shields are very hard to take down with just a few bombs. (Rocketeer)

A: Yes, most likely they will be toned down too.

Q: With the limit on number of objects in a zone, any chance of increasing the expiry time for things like PCMs and Bio Bombs? (Darksworde)

A: Faustus: "We could, but their expiry time is based on their velocity and the max range we want for that weapon, so something like that would go into the planned balance patch."

Q: Targetting incoming missiles or any fighters has become almost impossible, making point defense useless. What's up with that? (TheVirtu)

A: ECM and ECCM, both natural (nebulas) and artificial (ships and planets), now affects missiles as well.

Q: Are there any plans to do some kind of marketing when the new patch arrives? Many players are waiting for it, emailing them would bring back a lot of them. (Captain Caveman)

A: There are several things planned, e.g. bulk email and a news blitz to all online sites.

Q: Any plans for escape pods or something similar? (FIR3T0N3)

A: Life pods that get ejected when a ship explodes have been considered. Other players may pick them up for points of some type.

Q: Are there any plans on making the size of a ship affect armour or shield strength? (Axianda)

A: This is planned as part of the upgrade system which is to be implemented for all devices. Basically bigger ships get better armour.

Q: Any plans for new creatures? (Wolfram)

A: Not at the moment.

Q: When will the new faction be implemented? (Zether)

A: Faustus: "When palestar has the resources to get the artwork done for a new fleet :)"

Q: If a ship starts his jump at 20 gu/s and is stopped by an interdictor, will he A) come to a complete stop or B) come out of jump at full speed? (Axianda)

A: Faustus: "B"

Q: Any thoughts about making a carrier station that has a lot of fighters instead of normal weapons? (Zether)

A: When new ship configurations are being intrtoduced it will be considered as a good idea.

Q: Will Interdictor Bases affect wormholes? (Baikon)

A: Faustus: "NO"

Q: Are there new missions coming up? I.e. bombing, building. Are the broken ones getting fixed? I.e. escort missions lasting several hours. (Max Kepler)

A: Yes, the mission system is getting an overhaul.

Q: Will Inferno type planets get more of a purpose other than just sit there and orbit the sun? (Thrie The Tiger)

A: You can still get an extractor and get rare resources off them. Other than that, nothing yet.
