  GREECE
Acropolis Rally

100% gravel

  Keys to Success
Drive aggressively and use the throttle to guide you through the corners.

Be carefull of changes to braking grip on the different surfaces.

Avoid overshooting the corners, many of them will put you over the edge and out of contention.

Brake early and gas your way around a turn rather than over-skidding it.

Listen carefully for special instructions from your co-driver.

General Overview

A very dry, dusy rally with some very rough, gravel roads and tortuous hairpins. Weakening the break power will prevent wheel lockups and skidding on the gravely turns while a shorter gearbox will get your car back up to speed faster. Hairpins here are best handled by hard breaking to set up the car before you enter the turn, then use your power to quickly pull yourself aound the corner. A number of different gravel types mean that the rally drivers must adapt their style slightly throughout each stage. Watch for the changing surfaces and adapt your braking to each. Go off one slick corner and you could be over the edge ending your hopes of placing in this rally.

Colin's Photo Guide

Greece is the only Rally that is 100% gravel.

You will find many types of gravel roads in Greece all of which do a lot of zig-zagging.

You won't find the jumps and bumps of Finland here but you will find yourself going up and down a lot of hills.

Many roads are sprasely lined by small shrubs and trees...all of which don't stop your car from going over the edge.

Roads that are not lined by trees will often be boardered by steep rocky cliffs...this one goes in the good direction - up.

Don't get too caught up in these great mountain top views or you might just find yourself getting a birds eye view of them.
