i think it is a good idea. Would be better if it had Englisg/Welsh/Scottish flags instead of the brittish one,

Post Posted: 02-24-2005 10:15 PM Post subject: phpBB country flag mod

A phpBB mod is currently being considered for installation on BCU and we (The Staff) would like everyones input on the subject. Basically all the mod does is it adds a small flag under the Online/Offline indicator. This is selectable under the users profile and can be left blank if no flag is desired. The pic below will give you a rough idea of what it would look like. Cheers.

yes. We had probalems with a similar mod. But i dont think this one is so customizable. I think the flag options are pre-programmed.

I do seem to remember problems with something similar to this. I think it was customized ranks, or something.

as far as i see it, why not reintroduce it? if it becomes abused or used to any sort other than its proper purpose, be done with it altogether....
somehow, (altho i prolly wasnt there at the time when it was around and became sour so i really dont know), i think it would be ok for now...

I voted no, because I'm already sick of the rampant nationalism around here (from every quarter, mind you, not any individual country).

I agree that your reason for no is quite fairt Sim Rex, but by the looks of it, the flag only works on people that have put their location as to there country.

So really I dont see the harm I mean if I have where my location is doesnt really change to throw in a flag.

Also on the topic of the "problem" before at least the one Wessel speaks of since I was around and not gonna name names or anything but some people were more so screwing with our advatars and to mess with the ranks, but that was done over 2 years ago.

I'd say the Black Flag for anarchy would also be a popular choice for some.

Great Idea! It would allow people to make subtle statements about their country or the country they love. Too Happy Attitude Adjustment

Heh, some Mexicans might find it a little annoying, particularly the first one. It was our flag of independence, and was the one flown over the Alamo during the siege. But I think most of them have gotten over it.
