Here is my rebuild of the E-2, and I am finally happy with it. Not sure about the size, but I want this ship to be as small as I can get it, somewhere around the size of the original D-7. This ship is not designed to be a speed demon...it has very heavy armor, which I hope it's appearance confirms.

I wanted a very broad neck and blunt face, and I think it works nicely. Also of note are the nacelles. In cloak or combat mode the nacelles swing up under the armor skirt at the edge of the wings, in warp they swing down to horizontal position.

Armament is on the light side of course, but is sufficient for it's class...one forward and one rear torp launcher, two forward low power cannons, two forward mid power cannons.

Altough if you want a strong looking ship
I'd make it a little bit thicker

It looks good! I think the thickness is just right, by the way. That's a very original idea with the nacelles, Raven Night. I like it a lot!

But don't you think it's armament should be a little bit greater? These are Klingons, after all. Wink

Well, this is supposed to be a light cruiser. The D-7 (heavy cruiser in TOS, medium cruiser in Tmp/TNG) only had 2 forward cannons and a single torp launcher aft/fore. This one adds 2 low power cannons fore for defense, and it is a smaller ship.

At least, that was the plan.

The nacelles might look better once I get them colored a bit.

Well, they are to scale, direcly from a d-7 model as placecards at the moment. Here it is with the nacelles in the down position....

I guess you're right about the weapons, Raven Night. Thanks for the explanation.
