Aha! And look also, it can fit in without having to back in!

You have to back in because of the control center that is hanging down from the top of the drydock.

In reality, you should be towed into the dry dock, and not pilot the ship into it.

If Nano's blinkder doesn't work, you may want to try animated textures.

In ST reality, wouldn't the "control deck" come down after the ship was in place and then lock onto the ship ?

Well anyway I have gtten the blinkers working the way I want them but except the ones on the bottom. What I want the blinkers to do on the bottom is from going from front to back like when you land an aircraft at night it has the same lights that blink from front to back. I hope you guys know were I am going on this.

You would need to model some lights (simple 12 poly boxes) where they should be and assign each an animated texture sequence ifl like below

The first one could be assigned this:

on.tga
off.tga
off.tga
off.tga
off.tga
off.tga

The second one

off.tga
on.tga
off.tga
off.tga
off.tga
off.tga

and so on

Well that sounds better than my idea using the blinker duration variable to make it seem like a landing strip on the dry dock.

Well any way I have already did a converesion and I don't want to start the conversion over again and also would lead to get me to redo the hps because of the scale in max 3 so I don't want to risk it. As for the blinking lights that go from front to back effect I rather to wait untill nano makes one but I can make another version to add that effect once it is released but other wise the blinkers that should have the effect I'll just add the standard blinker effect. unless you guys want to make this animation for me and make sure the hps are in the right spots.

That would be an idea But I don't know if it will smothly dock the right way though but who knows.

Any way dose anyone know what is the average polly count for shipyard or space dock. Any way I really wanted the ship yard to look reall as posible thats my goal at least the shipyard in under 10000 polys though. So lets say this shipyard will be the only one that will have the most polys.

But not to worry as long as I don't make the same amount of textures like CG did the shipyard should be fine. ANyway I have found a nice hull plating design.

Say CG do you have a psd file for the background hull plating? Because I would want to make different lightness so if you have a copy can you send me one?

you could always ask a scripter to help with a docking script just for your shipyard.
or you could use mvam now that it is out if cg sends you his finished rework of the sov you could easy do it like that but only make it so you can undock the sov and play as the sov for like emergances say if earth got attacked and no other ships are in sector 001 or where ever you want the shipyard to be
