I think its time a few more people learn animations since BC will never get released if it can take up to several weeks a bridge.

Ok I'm ready to begin on some of the ships - does anyone have any preferences on what I should begin on? The Klingon vessel list seems to have a big gap...........

If no-one has any objections I can make a start on the B'rel2 & K'vort2.

Also what is the maximum amount of polys we are aiming for?
EDIT: Also need to know what size maps we are doing: 512/1024 etc.....
and I can also do all the dominion ships if nobody has any dibs on em

Sorry for all the dumb questions - dont wanna step on anybody's toes!

i'm keeping the ingame models lower than 3k for big ships, and 2k for the small craft.. according to Raven there'll be huge battles in the game, so the ships need to be low.
As for start, i suggest 1024 maps, as they can be easily downsampled if wanted.
I'm trying to keep the ships with a maximum of 3 maps also.

ahh good, I finally found it.

I made a version of your Honour or Death class a long time ago and had forgotten where I found it. since then I am now onto my third version because I love the design, my new version has many differences and I see you already have a model. My texture is about 25% complete.

Anyways my point is how do you stand on my releasing the model to the star trek armada, Bridge comander and star fleet command modding sites?

Also if you want it there is no problem....

Quick note, I have not done any non fed or klingone concepts. The Tholain Vindicator - armondikov 90% is as far off the mark as anyone can get.

Since there's an obscene number of bridges needed, would you like me to do some for the ships I've done such as the Armstrong, Nebuchadnezzer and Matador? The last two I assume are no more than basic layouts since they're small ships. If its okay, I would like to modify the current Scorpion bridge textures to create basic textures if no one minds, since I can't texture for love nor money.

Wrathofachilles: that aint a bad model there. I'm sure Raven will be very interested at poking as much detail and changes into it as he usually does for models he wants Razz

Thankyou, I have been moddeling for armada for sometime now and am really trying to improve so any negative comments are appreciated as much as the positive ones.

As I said you guys are welcome to it.

The one problem is that the textures appear a bit 'cartoony'. But with some tweaking in photoshop that can usually be fixed. Though don't ask me, as stated before, my 2D skills are nothing to write home about.

Try lowering the saturation just a bit, possibly add a bit of grit and wear to the textures. It could just be the lighting on the model though.

ahh it possibly could be Wink do you have messenger and I'll send you the model + textures so far, it may be my renders, ppl have said that before.

Also can you guys point me in the direction of a tutorial on adding glows ingame, I have set alpha chanels and copied the textures and renamed with _glow at the end, it is brighter but no light map. I put one of my Cardy designs in to test.

I'm taking a go at the Gorn Terradon. I've never before made modesl with only one persepective shot to go on, so the end result will be interesting.

from what I can tell of the list it hasn't been done yet. Raven, if you don't want it, I'd be happy if you to tell me before I finish my low poly mock up template and begin building a good version. that'd be some time tomorrow I expect.

I also can't do textures or any BC related stuff at all, so this is purely a model in *lwo format that you're getting. Still, i've got my eye on a couple of other vessels to do after I've finished this one.

I'm a moderator, I'm allowed to.

Secondly, this is the thread that is supposed to be tracking the model progress for BC2. It needs to be kept up to date, regardless of how long ago the last post was.

If you want to tackle the Gorn, I have some basic meshes for you to go on....I made them a long time ago, so they are low quality. I can upgrade them if you would like a better sample. Let me know which, and I'll compile the meshes for you to send off.

I'm about half way through a decent version of the teradon.

If your mesh is in *lwo format you can send it tome and it'll let me know how far off the mark I am. How much artistic license do i get, given only the one perspective shot?

Ah, cant do lightwave. Do you have a way to import max files?

I dont mind licence naturally, but I ask that you are open to major revisions. I'm not looking for a modelers perspective, im looking for mine. If that is ok with you, cool beans....

basically you are talented, so I doubt i will dislike what you do. Just post some shots of what you have sofar....and be open to tweaking if you dont mind.

mostly I've been working on the main hull so far, so I haven't got a great deal of detail on there. I've got the wings and underside mostly done, I'm starting to work on the bridge area. I should be able to post screenshots by tonight.
