This is the next ship following the Aegis class USS Patriot. She is a much smaller vessel at only 300m. She has been designed as a modular ship capable of fast mission reconfiguration with dockable saucer sides. This makes the class able to respond to most mission profiles at a moments notice. This ship is configured in battle mode as the USS Ticonderosa. What do you think?? All lit shots are BC screenshots the other ones are from milkshape.

Cool... unusual too. Those escape pods in front of the bridge look like some kind of fungal growth though.

To be honest, Im not liking this design as much as your U.S.S Patriot (when can we download it?) but it still does look pretty good. Nice job. I'd call it the 'U.S.S Defiant - A' because it does make me think of what a future version of a Defiant looks like.

Hmmm Only 6 decks? And the rammscoops are blocked by the saucer. Also I'm not sure if its the texturing but all the edges look rather sharp and for the want of a better word....Harsh.

Okay guys, why do we CARE if the ramscoops are blocked anyways?? It's not a big deal. Sheesh. It's supposed to be a small battleship, like the Defiant, and I think it lives up to that.

I agree that in terms of "good" starship design, the bussard collectors should be, if not all, at least partially visible from directly in front of the ship.

That, however, does not take away from the fact that this is a great original design that is well modeled and textures. I'd definitely DL this baby.

great design man. possibly a tad aggressive for federation norm but it's a game so who cares?

the bridge does seem a bit small though.

as for the ram-scoops being behind the saucer the rear configuration has a visible lean towards movable pylons. wouldn't be a stretch to imagine the pylons moving up a degree or 6 for warp flight... would it?

also the forward reg light is too well defined i think. needs more of a diffuse oval instead of a rock-hard 90degree thing.

lemme know if you want any hardpoints for it as the patriot had... issues...

As the issue with the “Ram Scoops” is proving quite a topic of debate, I would just like to point out that:-

The Buzzard collectors are made up of 2 distinct parts.

1 The graviton emitters that are powered hence the red glow and

2 The actual collectors that are the grill behind the emitters.

As the graviton emitters simply generate a magnetic field to pull in the hydrogen molecules. They would, in no way be impaired by the trailing edge of the saucer section as the fields generated would be focused above and below.

The collectors being on the top and bottom outside surfaces of the engines are if fact not obscured by the saucer in the slightest.

If we are doing it by the "Rules" that is!!

Anyways chaps. The HPing on this is progressing well and as this is our second attempt are much more confident at getting something bug free. Hopefully to be released soon.

To answer some other statements above,

The window to bridge size - I modelled the ship with a small bridge - actually internally the same as the Defiants bridge, which I am retexturing to use for this. At that size it is perfectly in scale with the windows as the longer ones are on very sloping surfaces which lengthen windows extensivly if they are to cover the deck height. There are 8 decks in total including one under the nose in deflector control.

The sharpness of some of the edges is intentional as I have a bit of a thing for combinig curves and edges. I think it makes it more interesting and modern looking and more believable from a manufacturing point of view.

Okay, I'm probably gonna get yelled at for this but....that was more than 40 years ago. Let it go. The "rules" are what prevents some really unique designs from getting off the ground. Buzzard collectors are powerful devices, and considering that its a SPACEship, I really doubt the equipment on board is dependant on line-of-sight.

I personally think it is a very nice design and it looks dangerous as well lol, i love the defiant styling to it, it looks almost like a multi-role vessel as it could also be used for scientific purposes as well as defensive. When you say dockable saucer sides thats what comes to mind is almost like a Defiant/Akria/Nebula hybrid of sorts. And that these saucer sections could be removed and be replaced with scientific modules, cargo containers, or even be used as civilian accommodations for planetary evacuation, i love it !

well, after checking the HP in both Notepad and MPE, all I can say is that the radius's of the subsystems are huge, and I mean HUGE. They need to be smaller (like the size of them on the actual mesh kinda small). Also, the impulse speed is overexaggerated.

i really love the overall design of this ship, and is quite starfleet looking, although a tad more Anti- Borgish, it still looks realistic. grats on making a good ship !!!
