I'm wondering about putting a wrecked vehicle on the road, but that could be too much.

although it would add to the ambiance, would it not also add BIG time to the poly count, but if you are just planning this for a picture, by alll means do it

think back at those news bit of any war torn city, they do have things around
also where the hole is in the bulding , there would be debis, on the street

yeah, In that city I'd expect there to be lots of paper litter, a few abandoned cars, pot-holes in the roads, stuff like that.

Well, there shouldn't be too much debis visible from the hole as the foreground road is a highway that's suspended quite a bit above ground. You can just see the top two floors in the main image compared to the four or five on the mesh of the model. It's also set back a few metres too.

I'm not intending on putting any star trek refferences in it and I'm not too convinced about my people skills (in a modelling and texturing sense of course) to put those in either. I'm free all tonight so I may work on it a little.

A wreck may be useful but I'm not keen on packing it out. I want to go for the abandoned look and I think the completely blank road in the foreground does that well.

Right. Mini rant.

I want to base one of the background scrapers on the World Trade Centre. Specifically, the one with the giant mast thing on it. Except it seems to be very difficult finding an image of it not on fire and without Nicolas Cage.

I despair.

EDIT: Never mind. This one will do, quite a nice shot. Although if I do this, the detail will mostly be lost in the distance. Good modelling exercise non the less.

Did a little more. Doesn't make too much of a difference to the main picture but it's there in case I change the perspective or it has to do something like reflect, or blow up or cast shadow.
