LC gave me this plugin replacement for photoshop some time ago and I decided to zip it up and distribute it for those who might have a similar problem with their Photoshop 7.

I was going ot put this in the Moddeling and Skinning links sticky thread, but it has vanished for some reason. If some mod could reopen it or sticky a new one... that would be ideal.

That tagra plugin is the 6.0 version as thius worked perfektly .. there is also an Update available for Photoshop 7 (7.0a) which also fixed that bug and some others.

Good idea Scotchy.
People always seem to need it, and it's very common you forget to backup it, when formating an HD.

If it doesn't become sticky.. we can always.. keep charing and bump it forever.. lol

Photoshop 7.0's ability to deal with Targas. The original Photoshop 7.0 didn't support them at all, and it really made adding alpha channels, and then exporting as a targa impossible. This replaces the targa importer/exporter, thus fixing the problem. Very handy indeed. Solved ALL my problems in a heartbeat.

Actually the problem was that until Photoshop 7, targas were never handled properly. TGA files are designed with 4 8-bit channels making a total of 32-bits. The first three handle RGB color. The original idea behind the fourth channel was for it to handle transparency. Previous versions of Photoshop never correctly implemented this so the fourth channel was used for an alpha channel. In 7.0 the decided to put the channel to its correct use (transparency) but many people now relied on targa's alpha channel support so due to user feedback, the reverted back in 7.0.1

it seems in photoshop CS (Cool this problem also exists so you just replace its targa exporter with the one here and you'll be sorted
