My character work I'm doing right now isn't good enough to post yet so I'm doing this to practice some micro-modelling skills. I know no-one voted for this option but it was just screaming at me to try. I could do something arty with it all later.

I like the tactic of taking photos of a guitar and saying its your CGI work.

Oh, wai...

It IS CGI work. Looks realistic.

Impressive once again.

The JD was a ncie touch too, but for genuine rock and roll you still need the tornique and the hypodermic Razz

Well, I do have the hat in the backdrop of one, although the DOF looks crap, I need to jump the AA to "extreme" to make it look better (it uses 32 passes and actually prompts Lightwave to warn you about using it unless you have certain effects in mind).

My current problem is the HDRI. If you notice, everything seems highly reflective, even though the reflection is set at ~1%, in some cases its as low as0.1%, yet I'm still getting the reflection from the windows in the image. Have to do some extra tweaking on that.

Armonds is the Cheif Bear or something equally mad of York's Douglas Adams Soc. It'll be a take on the whole "got milk" type thing.

If you're up for a challenge Armonds do a pic of him smashing it Razz

Nah, not really. Razz

About your HDRI, is it me, or does it look blocky in the distance?
Also, read this:

Is blocky because that's the resolution of the image Razz.

I can't really say I can control the exposure as much but I can probably work on several render time-intensive plug ins that do it for me.

Glemp, you really need to start a Douglas Adams Society in Nottingham. I think York is the only one still going since Oxford disbanded, I can't say much about the Exeter one and I have one email from someone in Lancaster who was starting one up but there's no evidence of it.

Well the thing is most of Doug Soc could easily be covered by Sci-fi Soc of which I am president for a second year.

And getting affiliated is a royal pain here

Bollocks does DougSoc come under the remit of SF&F. For starters, do you do 'Inflatable Death' or have the '7th Annual Final Battle Between Good and Evil'?

Armond, I don't suppose you can render the Marvin scene at 1024 resolution (preferably higher, since I usually program at 1600)?
I'd love to have it as my wallpaper.

I'm going to work on it a little more and get it looking good. Then I'm going to get a big one rendered up. Then its off to reprotech to get it made up to a giant A1 poster! Mr. Green,

then you can have your wallpaper version. I'll work on the background a little and put some things elsewhere to get better reflections. If anyone has any ideas of what to put on it, I'm open.

Man, I'd love to produce "art" (or another fancy image) and get that printed.

Well, I'm thinking of doing some arty stuff with the fighter, but I'll need some concept ideas first. I could possibly turn it into a mock movie poster and see who I can convince that it's real. Grin
