Nope. There is only really a couple of designs there, the rest are all variations of it. A large number of them are based off the saber design. Kinda silly to base the entire fleet off a design that was only used on a single not particulary powerful ship. I think some of them could be decent designs, just not the way they are now. Plus none of them have large saucers, which is utterly ridiculous in a warship design since the size of the phaser array is directionally proportional to the phasers power.

You don't even want to get me started on how much I despise the new scorpion and that fact that it will be the players ship.

Then, Laurelin, how would you explain the 5 century designs gap between the Sovvie and the Wells?

The Saber and Steamrunner classes where the first step, were just continuing that... Razz

First off Voyager is crap, so there is nothing from that show that really needs explaination Razz

Second it's a timeship. Maybe the design is required to better travel through time. Have you seen any 25th century non-timeships? What makes you think all ships follow that design?

Third the Wells has little in common with either of those designs. It has no warp nacelles. I don't see any of your designs without warp nacelles. As a matter of fact it doesn't even look like a Federation ship.

Now you wanna talk continuity. The Federation would never ever give command of anything to a genetically engineered being. His very existance is is a violation of Federation law. They would certainly never give it to someone who was a product of the Eugenics wars manipulation. How about the Omega particle powered ship? Again a violation of Federation law, plus it's too dangerous to even consider using as a power source.

If you want to claim you follow continuity, then don't pick and choose what you will follow. This isn't Enterprise here Razz

well the Marines aren't exactly the nice streakless clean Starfleet Captains, i don't recall, but i also don't believe Janeway explictly stated that everyone must destroy the Omega Particle, just Starfleet Captains.

Actually there shouldn't be marines at all. Kirk had mentioned that Starfleet is a combined service, so there shouldn't be any seperate branches. But even if there were, they would still be a part of Starfleet, and would still have to follow it's directives.

Lets assume for some bizarre reason there are marines and they aren't a part of Starfleet. Where would they get Omega from? As soon as someone tries to experiment with it, Starfleet detects it and ships come and blow the facility to bits.

I've been trying to poke holes in Raven's story for months now, but he always has an answer for everything. Maybe you can succeed where I gave up. Wink

Maybe because they have the Federation Council to cover for them, or maybe they destroyed anyone stupid enough to mess with em...LOL....and while he stated that then, perhaps its changed, we never heard of Section 31 till DS9 and only Responsible to the Federation President. Maybe the same kinda deal.

Section 31 doesn't answer to anyone. They are an illegal organization and a group of terrorists. They ignore federation law and act with no morals or ethics. Their very existance is a violation of everything the Federation stands for, and everything they do to help it just destroys it a little more because of their existance. Putting such scum in the Federation was in insult to everything Trek stands for. So much for the dream of a better future, people are now just as evil and short sighted in Trek as they are now.

It actually parallels BC2's little genetically engineered demi-godling. You can't turn control of the fleet to someone whose very existance is a violation of everything the Federation stands for.

BC2 is about at Trek-like as Enterprise. It flagrently violates all established contunuity. Even it's premise of Earth taken by of all people the Breen (the Borg fail twice, but the Breen snatch it up.... riiiight), is so anti-Trek it's not funny.

Perhaps we should continue this somewhere else?

Negative? I don't think so. I'm just pointing out what I see a gross errors in it, obviously that won't include any glowing endorsements. Trek is all about the vision. Either you follow the vision of Trek, or you don't have Trek.

I'm a convicted thread Hijacker Grin

Laurelin is simply a die-hard fan. No shame in that. I've heard it all.

.......and I am sure to hear more.

BC2 is simply a vehicle to cater to an audience that hates Trek and everything it stands for. It ruins Trek and it's vision, and I proclaim that proudly.

I will ruin the future. I will destroy the image of peace and morality. This mod is only the begining.

........so hate me if you must.......but you will see this prevail in the end.

No peace in our time. Once more unto the breach, dear friends Wink

Well actually, I agree with the Romulan woman( Razz ), ths plotline of this mod is rather un-Trek. However, so was a lot of DS9's last two seasons. So is Enterprise...
I'll still DL the mod, cause at the very least, it'll make a good sci-fi game.
