Mesh by DaBrain

Was donated to my Trek project for FS2 and I just finished conversion. Really liked the Romulan/Reman look so decided to offer it up here with DaBrain's permission!

1.) Could be used as is but does have minor mesh errors.

2.) All textures were painted on by me as I was given it RAW and the creator has abondoned the design long ago. So it seriously could use a retexture.

3.) The ok is given to do anything you want with it as long as you credit Dabrain (and NOT ME!). However if you do a awesome retexture or come up with something interesting I would very much appreciate it if you'd post a link to it so I might include it in my Trek mod as well as the general public!!!

4.) it's in .Cob format but I've included the bmp version of the temp textures. You'd have to convert it as needed to BC standards/format.

5.) That's it! Download it if you want or not, ENJOY!!!

After adding glows and posed in the sun.

Earlier pic before glows in near darkness.

Background (optional) From the Read Me:
Raw Mesh Created by : Da Brain

1st alterations by: Star Dragon (initial texturing and added History for fanfiction).

Plato used the word aeon to denote the eternal world of ideas, which he conceived was "behind" the perceived world.

This respelling of Aion represents the combined efforts of the Ailliance members (particularly the Federation, Klingon and Romulan empires).

The ATF-Aion (Alliance Tactical Fighter) has many technologies improved and miniaturized for fighter usage that previous generations of fighters were incapable or just impractical for use.

The Romulans pioneered it's stealth and cloaking systems and improved the Federation's holo-emitters.

The Klingons overarmed it and added the atmospheric maneuvering system.

The Federation added the pilot survival systems and comforts as well as overshielding and armor reinforcement. Also the warp and impulse drives.

Armaments include:

x8 Micro Photon tubes (before rearming 8 bursts)
x4 Pulse Phasers or Light Disruptors (Mission Specific)
x2 Standard Phasers or Medium Disruptors (Mission Specific)

The cloaking system is backed up by Holo-Emitters that can mask not only the warp signiture of the craft, but the visual appearance as well.

Key sections of the frame and critical systems are reinforced by Ablative armor.

A mini-replicator onboard can sustain the pilot and take care of personal needs on extended missions or unforseen events.

An emergency transporter is standard issue.

Rated for Warp 1 cruising, Warp 2 may be used in emergencies or short bursts. Impluse and Atmospheric thrusters are secondary and tritery populsion.

Combined these features make the ATF-Aion THE most feared and combat capable craft in the Milky Way Galaxy. Due to the overall expense of each fighter's production, only the best of the best are slotted for it's use.

* FS2 files also included since file size is small...

Yeah, since I use an outdated build my secondary weapons are NOT animated and the static ones are rated for cap ships so if I were to sceenie a photon firing from the 8 red blocks each one would be 5 times larger than the fighter itself Wink

My animated primaries only fire frim slots rated as normal gun harpoints, not missile so I tagged them as "ballistic" meaning you can make a laser type weapon with a ammo amount. That's a workaround to simulate a missile "load" and yes can be rearmed by a supply ship or other scripted event.

And yes Fs2 fighters are ALL oversized but that's a bug (feature!) since 1997. It's a POV code error and as a result small craft are more accurate in size than cap ships. Everything needs to be scaled up IF you want real immersion.

IE to have the fighter sized shuttle dock and look correct next to the Enterprise-A the Enterprise needs to be 751 Game Meters not 350 REAL METERS. It's an optical trick ignore the numbers and go by your eyeball and it's all good.

It can be a pain in teh arse sometimes but this 3.6 build is the easiest of teh Source Code upgrades for me to mod. When the Mod is finally complete (in 3-5 years if it's still just me by then) someone will have to port the entire thing to the latest build for teh public. But the point is it will be DONE! (taking my pathetic level of "skill" into consideration).

Sounds like a bomber, and would compliment my squad of Scorpions quite nicely. But Photons ??? Micro Plasma's seem more fitting for a Rommie IMHO.

I'll fix it up.

Most certainly.

I need an escape from the couple of bridge models I'm working with. I've already got the mesh errors fixxed, and the 'skin' I'll do over the weekend.

If you wouldn't mind posting the mesh when you're done but before you convert it so I can throw it in my library I'd appreciate it! Grin

What format would you like it in ??

PM me and I'll send you the milkshape mesh (as it's what I'm currently working with), but I can port it to most anything you want.

I rescaled it to 15 meters which looks about right, any comments ???

<edit 5:15pm 2-17-07> I can't believe this is a 'throwaway' model, the more I play with it, the more I like it.

Star Dragon- could you post some rear views of the ship ?? I can convert it, but I can't view it in COB format and I need to rebuild the textures.

Thanks,

There you go I took 4 views of the rear. Those were crap textures I used, but you got the main hull there (greyish), the engine cones(darker grey), and the recessed warp strips (blue).

Hope that helps, it's just they way I had it for now... Needs a real going over for customization...

Have fun! (and it's been rebuilt for FS2 use as well!) Looks like there's going to be 3 versions off this model. people really like it...

Couldn't find those pics. Did you attach them to the message ? Yuo could just zip em and attach them to a PM.

I'm pretty much done as it's pointless to add too much detail as it's tiny compared to the cap ships it's gonna kill. I saw a rommie fighter once (thats comparable in size) that the creator textured in 512X512- like your ever gonna get that close to a 15 meter ship in the game so I compromised and used 256X245 tho' 64X64 would've been my first choice.
I'll post pics as soon as I finish the wrapping.

Yeah I did... I'll copy the link from the forum and PM it to you now..

Oh and still doing things I'm NOT supposed to: Myself, Basara, and Teal'c transform our individual ships into the Getter Team and then combine into Getter ROBO GX!!!

I discovered how to make a ship a ball of light you can control, and now am one step closer to making my fanfic a reality (in a cyber way)...

Oh and the first person to yell out "Go Voltron Force, or Power Rangers" will get beaten to death with a Frozen Tuna!!! - QFT!

PM on the way! Grin

Must be a private forum, it won't let me in without a PW. Anyhow I don't need them anymore as I'm almost done- just tweeking the hardpoints now. I'll send you 'my' finished model shortly (I changed a few things).
